Sri  Vatha Nadha  Suprabatham (Malayalam)

By

Moorkkannur  sri Hari  Nambhudiripad

(Former melsanthi  of  Guruvayur)

Translated by

P.R.Ramachander

( I had earlier  translated two Guruvayurappan Suprabathams  in Sanskrit (https://stotrarathna.blogspot.com/2019/12/gurvayurappan-suprabatham.html

https://stotrarathna.blogspot.com/2017/07/guruvayupuresa-suprabatham.html) Both these  are  Like  any other  great  suprabathams

But  waking up God  in Guruvayur  is  a long process(https://rajathathablog.blogspot.com/2019/11/what-is-nirmalya-darsanam-and-vaka.html )

The present  Guruvayurappan Suprabatham takes  in to account  this wake up process  , as it is a  written , by a great scholar  who was  chief  priest  of the temple .)

Sri Krishna   baktha jana sanchayam  othu chernna

Sri kanthanaaya Hari thannude sannidhanam

Sri Sankaradhi sura  vrindam othidunnu,

Sri vatha nadha bhagawan thava suprabatham

The united collection of  devotees of Krishna

The temple  of Hari  the  husband  of Lakshmi

The  group  of  lord shiva  and other  devas are chanting

Oh lord of Guruvayur  , a  good  morning  to you

THeerathilekku thirayennathu poale yethi

THikki thirakki Hari  baktha  janangal yellam

THingum  manassinnoru saanthi labhikkuvaanaai

Chollunnu melle  BHagawan ! THava  suprabatham

Reached like  the tide going to the shore

The Hari devotees crowded  and rushed

To get peace to the stifled mind

Slowly I tell , Oh God  , a good  morning to you

Sri Rudra theertham athilaayi  kuliyum kazhinju

Basmam darichu   viravil  puthu  vasthramode

Kayyil pidichu  hari  sannidhi  thannude thaakkol

Mesaanthi  cholli  , Karunakara   suprabatham

Bath is over  in the  Rudra  theertham(sacred water)

I wore  sacred ash speedily along with new cloths

I held    the key of hari temple  in my hand

The chief priest  told, Oh Karunakara  good morning to you

Munnayi  neram ariyichoru  Dhivya  nadham

Nannai uyarnnu chevi kettathu  moonnu  vattam

Onnai  uyarnnu pavaneswara dhivya  namam

Sri Vatha nadha sura vandhitha suprabatham

The divine  sound  which informed  sound before

Greatly rose  up, and my ears  heard  it three  times

And the divine name of Guruvayurappan rose  together

Oh  Vatha Nadha who is saluted by devas  , good morning to you

Bhakthyadarangal  vazhiyunnoru baktha  jaalam

BHageerathikku samamaayadha  neengidumbol

Nirmalya   darasanamaho athi sundaram thaan

Sri  Vayu geha  Bhagawan thava  suprabatham

The pot of devotion where devotion  and respect are spiling out

When it ws moving   equal   to river  ganges

The nirmalya(bereft  of garlands) look  is indeed  very pretty

OH God who resided  in wind  , Very  good morning to you

With hands I  massaged on the statue of great God

I  went through by my eyes, the devotees  of Hari

The  blessed  statue in pouring of water  , like  tears

The  tears  awoke, Oh  God  a good morning to you

Yezhaakum aa  nadhikale   shubha  manthramode

Yekathwamaakki  vidhi poalave   sankhinnuullil

Yezhakku  thozhan Hari  thannude  nal  sirassil

Yere ozhichu parayunniha   Suprabatham

The rivers  which are seven with  auspicious  manthras

I made them in to one like the fate  in side the conch

On the good head of Hari who is  friend of  the poor

, I poured a lot  and    I am saying now  , good  morning

The water  in the pot  on the  head  of Hari,

Fell like  small divine    shower    and fell equally

And when lotu eyed  lord, alas  was  standing cooled

Oh lord with form of joy, A good morning to you

Snanam kazhinju thiru vadhil adacha sesham

Jnana swaroopan arayil cheru pattu charthi

Manathinotha niramullavanu egi neidyam

Nama Swaroopa Bhagavan thava suprabhatham

After  taking bath  and  after  shutting  the door  to the sanctum

After  tying  a small  silk cloth  on hip of him whose  form is wisdom

I gave  offering to him who has  a colur  suitable  to my mind
