Sri Mahalakshmi Panchakam

prayer , possibly popular in mAharashtra because
I saw it with Marathi meaning)
1.Mahalakshmi, Maha Maye , poojaneeye, jagasthriye,
Para Brahma mahishi thwam Vishnu pathni namosthuthe
Oh Mahalakshmi ,
Oh Great illusion who is fit to worship, and the woman of the world,
Oh queen of Para
Brahmam , you are wife of Vishnu , salutations to you.
2.Sarva mangala
maangalye Shiva sarvartha saadhike,
SAranye thrayambike Gauri
Narayani Namosthuthe
My salutations to the goddess Narayani,
Who is the auspiciousness of all auspiciousness ,
Who is consort of Shiva , Who grants all desires,
Who can be relied upon and who is the
trinity of Goddesses.
3.Kamalasana kamalekshana kamalari kireeta, kamala brudvahai,
Nutha padha kamala kamala drutha hruth kamala karothi may kamalam
Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu with lotus like eyes, Lord shiva
with moon on his crown, and all devas ,
Salute the lotus like feet of Lakshmi, with a request
to Goddess Lakshmi occupy their lotus like hearts
4.Lakshmi devi namasthubhyam , viswa prana
swaroopini,’
THwayaa vinaa
akhilam viswam shava thulyam cha nishphalam
I salute to
Goddess Lakshmi, who has the form of the soul of the universe,
Without you the
entire universe is similar to a corpse and would be useless.
5.Mayi thishta
thwayi nithyam yadhendraasu thishtathi,
Abhayam kuru may devi Maha Lakshmi Namosthuthe
Please be with me daily like you would be
with Indra and others,
And give me
protection oh mu goddess and I
salute Mahalakshmi
