built by king Raja Raja
Six hundred years before
Tajmahal was built by Shahjahan, A chozha king Rajendran built a memorial to his step mother
“Pancha Maha dev Iswaram i”(Pancha
maha devi palli padai kovil –temple of the memorial
of Pancha maha devi) .The temple is now in a dilapidated condition .It is near a small village called
Patteswaram .Interstingly Raja
Raja handed over his kingdom to his son, built a
small palace(called Chozhar
Maligai) and spent his life there
looking at the memorial he has built
