  Few years  back I had  translated  a great  Malayalam prayer addressed  to  Chelakkara  Lakshmi nara simha murthy . So I was surprised to  receive from my friend  Chelakkara Venkatraman a great  prayer  addressed to Anthimahakalan –the chelakkareswaran . The lyrics were not available any where . I have become too old to hear and write  the lyrics .Sri Venkatesa iyer(Rajamani)   and Pushpa  of Mumbai  to both of whom I am Raja Chithappa  , gave  me a Malayalam draft . Million thanks for  all three of them, But for them , I could not have done , this job,so dear  to my mind)

The mother  of the temple  who is playing  on his right

Would  see first your divine   form   and then wake up

The  mother goddess who removes sorrow and grants  boons

The Nagaraja(serpent king) who  lives   there  as a guard

Gangajala  paripavana kesa bharam

Parvathi nirathakhila loka   vandhyam

രക്ത വർണ അംബര ശക്ത പുണ്യ നേത്രം

ഗംഗാ ജല പരി പാവന കേശ ഭാരം

പാർവതി  നിരത അഖില ലോക വന്ദ്യം

വന്ദേ ചേലക്കരേശാ  മഹേശ്വര അന്തിമാള

 

The  powerful  blessed eyes, he who wears  reddish cloths

The  heaviness of hair  carrying the  very pure waters of Ganges

Saluted  by Parvathi  all the world  who are  spread there

Yennum vilayadanam  aa  nama manthram,

Theliyumaarakanam yennum nin  punya roopam

   Sarva  janathinnum   mangala vara  prasaadham

എന്നും വിളയാടണം  ആ നാമ മന്ത്രം

തെളിയുമാറാകണം എന്നും നിൻ പുണ്യ രൂപം

സർവ ജനത്തിനും മംഗള വര പ്രസാദം

വന്ദേ ചേലക്കരേശാ  മഹേശ്വര അന്തിമാള

 

That   chant of that name should always  play  within us

Your holy form should clearly   appear before me daily

Your  auspecious boons   should be the  offering of boon for  all people
