(This  is one of prayers which was often sung  by my co brother  Sri.PVV Raghavan ,.This is about the story  of priests son making Guruvayurappan  eat  the neivedhyam. He will be singing this prayer with tears in his eyes. I thought  I had lost this  song forever .But one his sons , Sri PV Viswanathan had recorded this song .Another son Venkateswara Iyer sent me draft  from his memory  with lots of gaps. I asked some guruvayurappa  bakthas  whether  they have heard about it .I have  reconstructed  and translated  this great prayer.I have also typed it out in Malayalam-first  time in life ..Lot of errors are bound  to bethere.They are mine  .Pardon me for them.

Once upon a time   the priest  of the temple  got in to a problem,

He entrusted worship of GUruvaurappa  to his son, and went  for the sradha

എന്നും  ഗുരുവായൂരപ്പൻ നിവേദ്യത്തിന്നു നന്നായി ഭുജിക്കാറുണ്ട്  എന്നത് ഓർത്തു

അന്ന് ഭക്ഷിച്ചു  കാണായ്ക നിമിത്തമായി ഉണ്ണി വിഷണ്ണനായി  തീർന്നിതു അപ്പോൾ

Yennum guruvayurappan nivedhyathinnu nannai  bhujikkarundu ennathu oarthu

Annu  bakshichu  kanaa ayka   nimithamai unni  vishannanai theernithu appol

Thinking that  daily  Guruvayurappan eats well the temple  offerings

And not seeing him eating it, the boy priest  became worried

നല്ല പദാർത്ഥങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞിട്ടു  ആകിടാം മല്ലാരി ഊണ് കഴിക്കാഞ്ഞത്

എന്നോർത്തു അടുത്തുള്ള ഒരു ആലയം  തന്നിൽ  ചെന്ന്  ഉടൻ ഉപ്പു മാങ്ങയും  തൈരും

ഓടി പോയി കൊണ്ട് വന്നു ഭക്തി സംയുക്തമായി , കോട കാർ വര്ണന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ചെന്ന് വെച്ച്

ഉണ്ണുവാനായി പറഞ്ഞു , പിന്നെയും കണ്ണൻ താൻ അന്നേരം ഉണ്ടതില്ലാ

Nalla padarthangal illanjittu  aakiidaam  Mallari  OOnu kazhikaanjathu

Yennathorthu aduthulla oru aalayam    thannil    chennu udan uppu maangayum thayirum,

Odi poi kondu vannu bhakthi samyukthamai kodakaar varnande  mumbil chennu vechu

Unnuvaanai paranju, pinneyum kannan thaan anneram  undathilla

Thinking that  the lord did not take food because   good dishes  were not there

He went to the  nearby temple and brought salt mango pickle and curd.

അന്നേരം ദുഃഖം കലർന്ന് ഉടൻ ഉണ്ണിയും ഇവ്വണ്ണം ഉണർത്തി

ഉപ്പു മാങ്ങയും ഉറ തൈരും മുണ്ടിട്ടു , ഇപ്പോൾ കയ്പ്പക്ക കൊണ്ടാട്ടം  വേണോ കൃഷ്ണാ

Anneram  dukham karlarnnu udan unniyum , nandajanodu ivvannam unarthi,

Uppu mangayum  ura thayirum  undittu ,yippol kaypakka  kondaattam veno, krishnaa

Then the young boy with lots  of sorrow informed   the god

After eating salt mango pickle   and solid curd, do you want also the salted  bitter gourd chips

ഊണ് കഴിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ അയ്യോ , ക്സീനിച്ചു പോം ദേഹം എല്ലാം

അച്ഛൻ വന്നാൽ എന്നെ തല്ലും എന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞാലും , അച്യുതൻ ഒന്ന് കഴിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിൽ

OOnu kazhikkanjaal aayo, visannidum, ksheenichu pom  deham ellam,

Achan vannal  yenne thallium  yennu arinjaalum, achyuthan oonu  kazhichillengil

If you do not take food  , your body  would become tired,

Know that, When father  comes back , he will beat me, if you Krishna do not take anything

ഇത്തരം ബാലന്റെ ദീന വിലാപം കേട്ട് , ഏറെ വിഷാദനായി കൃഷ്ണൻ

തന്നെ ഭജിക്കുന്നവർക്കു താൻ സ്വാധീനം  എന്ന് ജ്നങ്ങളെ കാണിക്കാനോ

Itharam balande dheena  vilaapam kettu  , yere vishadanaayi  Krishnan,

THanne bhajikkunnavarkku thaan , swaadheenam yennuj anangale  kaanikkano

Hear this sort  of  cry of the boy, Krishna  becae very sad,

To show  us, that he  is obedient to whosoever  is devoted to him

ദൈവത്വം  എല്ലാം മറന്ന ഭാവത്തോടെ നെയ്‌വേദ്യം എല്ലാം ബുജിച്ചു കൃഷ്ണൻ

എന്നത് കൊണ്ട്  ധരണി സുതാത്മജൻ ഉന്നതാണ് ആപ്‍തി മഗ്നനായി

Deivathwam ellam maranna bhavathode naivedhyam yellam bujichu  Krishnan

Yenathu  kondu darani sudhathmajan unnathannu   aapthi    magnanaayi

He forgot all his divinity  and that Krishna   ate  all the offerings

And because  of the  son of  the son of earth became silent

പാത്രം പുറത്തു  അങ്കിട്ടൊരു നേരത്തു , പാർത്തു നിന്നിടും കഴക ക്കാരൻ

നിന്ടെ സാമർഥ്യം സാമർഥ്യം , നിന്നുടെ ശാന്തി നിമിത്തം പട്ടിണിയായി

When he put the vessels outside, the servant to whom they will go , stared at them,

Your intelligence, intelligence, and because of your worship, I could not take any food

ഭോജനമെല്ലാം അകത്തു ഇരുന്നു ഉണ്ട്, നീ പാരാതെ പാത്രം പുറത്തേക്കു ഇട്ടു

ആരിതു മാത്തുവാൻ , വാല്യ കാരന്ടെ , അച്ഛൻ വരട്ടെ  കാട്ടി തരാം

BHojanamellam akathu irunnu undu, nee paaraathe  paathram purathekku ittu

AArithu   maathuvaan  , vaalya  kaarande  achan varatte  kaatti tharaam

All the food  you sat inside  and ate and without seeing you put the vessels out

Who can change this to the servant, let your father come  , I will show you

ആക്ഷേപിച്ചു ഉണ്ണിയോട് യീവണ്ണം അച്ഛനപ്പോൾ, അടി ശിക്ഷിക്കാൻ,

അധിക്ഷേപിക്കാൻ  ഉണ്ണിയെ അച്ഛൻ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ , പക്ഷീന്ദ്ര വാഹനൻ മാ രു തേ ശ  ൻ

ശ്രീകോവിലകം തന്നിൽ നെയ്‌വേദ്യം ചെയ്തു , ഉണ്ണിയെ തല്ലേണ്ട, ഉണ്ടത് ജ്ഞാൻ

ഗംഭീരമാകും അശരീരി വാക്  കേട്ട്  അമ്പരന്നു എല്ലാരും സ്തംഭിച്ചു

Aakshepichu unniyodu yeevannam  achanappol adi  sikshippan

Adhikshepikkan unniye  achan thudangumbol, paksheendra vaahanan  marudesan

Sree kovilakam  thannil nevadhyam aaru cheithu, unniye thallenda  , undathu jnan

Gambheeramaakum  asareeri vaakui kettu ambarannu  yellarum sthambichu

He told like to the boy and  then complained to him , to beat  and punish him

When the father  of the boy   started  scolding him, the one who rides on garuda , the guruvayurappa,

Who offered me offerings in the sanctum , do not beat the boy, I only ate it

It was thunderous voice from the sky  and all those who heard it were surprised  and became like a pillar

ഉണ്ണിയെ വാഴ്ത്തി സ്തുതിച്ചിത യെല്ലോരും , കണ്ണന്റെ വൈഭവം ചിത്തം ചിത്തം

നെന്മണി യില്ലത്തെ കുഞ്ഞുണ്ണിയാണ് പോൽ നമ്മുടെ സത് കഥാ പാത്രമായതു

Unniye vaazhthi sthuthichithaa yellaorum, kannande vaibhavam  chitham chitham

Nanmani illathe kunjunniyaanu poal, nammude sath kadha pathramayath

Every body greeted  and praised  the boy, with the greatness of Krishna  in their mind

The boy was Kunjunni of nanmani  house, he was our good hero of the story

നിദ്ര ഇല്ലാകിലും വന്നു എന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചു വക്ഷസ്സിൽ ആയെന്ന പുണർന്നിട്ടാലും

Uthama slokathe  othu jnan cholliya bhakthi  parayana krupayaal

Nidhrayillaakilum vannu enne  rakshicchu vakshassil aayenne punanittalum

Due to kindness of god for having  told these   divine  song story,

(I prayed  to Gods  in Chennai to remove Carona and help people  living there  in Tamil .I know  that Bombay  is facing a  worst scenario.I wanted  to pray the Gods  in Mumbai to help them  by removing Carona.I do not Marathi and not  very confidant  in Writing  in Hindi  .Thinking  the Gods  will know  all languages, I composed a prayer in English  , some of The Gods in Mumbai, known to me.Oh Gods  , please  help Mumbaikars)

(I am quoting in extenso from the learned article on Pancha Mukha Anjaneya from the Wikipedia.
“Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya Swami was the main deity of Sri Raghavendra Swami. The place where he meditated on this five-faced form of Hanuman is now known as Panchamukhi, wherein a temple for him has been built. There is also a shrine for Panchamukha Anjaneya Swami at Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, India. A 40 feet (12 m) tall monolithic green granite murti of Sri Panchamukha Hanuman has been installed in Thiruvallur, also in Tamil Nadu. This place was known as Rudravanam in olden times when many saints and seers had blessed this place with their presence. The Panchamukha Hanuman Ashram itself was established by a saint called Venkatesa Battar.
Hanuman assumed this form to kill Mahiravana, a powerful rakshasa black-magician and practitioner of the dark arts during the Ramayana war. Mahiravana had taken Lord Rama and Lakshmana captive, and the only way to kill him was to extinguish five lamps burning in different directions, all at the same instant. Hanuman assumed His Panchamukha form and accomplished the task, thus killing the rakshasa, and freeing Rama and Lakshmana.
This form of Hanuman is very popular, and is also known as Panchamukha Anjaneya and Panchamukhi Anjaneya. (Anjaneya, which means "son of Anjana", is another name of Hanuman). One of the most famous places of Pligrimage in central India is claimed to be the Resting Place of Shiri Hanuman Ji is Chitrakoot. The Hanuman Dhara Temple is situated on the peak of mountain where there is natural rock formation image of Shri Hanuman inside the cave and a natural stream of water falling on the tail. It is believed that after the coronation of Lord Ram, Hanuman requested for a permanent place to settle in the Kingdom of Lord Ram, where his Injury of burns on his tails will be cured. Lord ram then with his arrow spurred a stream of water on the tip of mountain and asked hanuman to rest there and water of the stream will fall on his tail to cool down burning sensation on his tail.
The access to the cave temple is through stairs starting from bottom of the mountain to its top. It takes roughly 30 to 40 minutes to reach the temple. Over time the temple has gained a new name, namely Hanuman Dhara. The most fascinating thing about the temple is that the cave temple is located on the top of the mountain and water comes in the stream throughout the year, although the mountain has no permanent source of water on it like Glaciers or snow coming from the covered mountains of Himalayas.
Other places where statues of Lord Hanuman can be found are:
A 67 foot Murti of Lord Hanuman Ji has been installed at Sankat Mochan Shri Hanuman Mandir, located in the Punjab town of Phillaur.
A 40 foot Murti of Sri Panchamukha Hanuman has been installed at Tiruvallur, near Chennai,India.
A 36 foot Murti of Sri Panchamukha Hanuman has been installed at Panchavatee,Pondicherry, called Viswaroopa Jayamangala Panchamukha Sri Anjaaneyaswamy.
A 32 foot Murti of Adhivyadihara Sri Bhaktha Anjaneyaswamy, Nanganallur, Chennai which is molded out of a single rock.
Every Face of Sri Panchamukha Hanuman has significance —
Sri Hanuman faces east. He grants purity of mind and success.
The Narasimha faces south. He grants victory and fearlessness.
The west facing Garuda removes black magic and poisons.
The north facing Varaha, showers prosperity, wealth.
The Hayagriva mukha faces the Sky. But since we cannot see it, it is usually tilted and shown above Hanuman's face. One face is that  of varaha , it will face north,

It will give  a boon of problems not coming  and protect you

Narasimham oru mukhamaam, nalla naal  purinthirukkum

SRama dasai  neekki vidum, therkku mukham  paathirukkum

Another face  is that Of Narasimha , seeing  the  good perion,

It will remove  difficult period, and   would be   seeing the souh

Hayagreevar  oru mukhamaam, mel mukham  pargthirukkum

SAkala kala  paandithyam, santhosham   thanthu vidum

Another face is that  of Hayagreeva  , seeing  above  ,

It will give knowledge of all arts and give  happiness

Garudanum  oru mukhamaam , kadiya  visham neekkum

Guruvana  merkku mukham, uththu nokkum  thirumukhamam

Another face is that  of Garuda, would  take  away  very  strong poison,

It is the west looking face that teaches and is the divine face  that stares at you

Aanjaneyar oru mukhamaam, iynthavathu  thiru mukhamam,

Vanchanai  virodhangal , billi  sooniyangal, perum pakai  agathi vidum,

Ulagamellam  nirainthirunthu, uthathu  thannai  aakki vidum

Kizhakku  mukham  paarthirukkum, aaki vidu  kedu indri  kaathirukkum

Another face is that of Anjaneya and it is the fifth   divine face

It would remove deceit , enmity,  black magic  and great  enemies

Occupying   the entire world and will make  that which is suitable

It would be seeing  the east and will wait avoiding  bad things  that may happen

Vazhakkukal vethri tharum. Vaazhvilum  Vethri  tharum

Kannimar  kalyana  kaalangal  kai koodum

Vannam poal  mazhalaikal, yezhuloka  thothuvikkum

Pancha mukha anjaneyar, Padham paniya  ithamaakum

WE will win in arguments, we will also get victory in life

The marriages of the maids  would come to happen

The colourful babies  will make us  see the  seven worlds

If we salute   the feet  of the five faced  Anjaneya

KOnji varum selvangal, kodi kodi  nalamaakum

Aynthu   mukha  aanjaneyar,  anu dhinavum arul  tharuvaar

Chendhoora  pottu mittu, chinthanai  ondraakki

Vaalil pottumittu, vaazhthukkal paadiduvom

The  wealth  which follow us  will  grant us crores  of  good life

And the five faced Anjaneyar would  bless us daily,

Wearing the thilaka of  chendhoora, with a concentrated mind,

We will put thilaka  on his tail  and sing his praises

Vettilai churulodu vadayi; maalaikalum  chuththi

 And make him wear it and we will celebrate

(This great prayer  is addressed to  Goddess Kalikambal  of Chennai. The Kālikāmbal Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shri Kāligāmbāl  and Lord Kamadeswarar, located in Parry’s corner  in Chennai . The temple is located in Thambu Chetty Street, a prominent financial street running parallel to Rajaji Salai .The temple was originally located closer to the sea shore and was relocated to the current site at 1640 AD. It was then built in 1678. Shivaji, the Maratha warrior and the founder of the Hindawi-Swarajya in the 17th century, had worshiped in this temple incognito on 3 October 1667. It is believed that a fierce form of Goddess  was held in worship earlier and that this form was replaced with the shanta swaroopa (calm posture) form of Goddess Kamakshi.)
