മുത്തശ്ശിയൊന്നു മുറുക്കി

കണ്ണടച്ചൊന്നു ജപിച്ചു - പിന്നെ

മുത്തശ്ശി പാടിത്തുടങ്ങി

 

Vethrila chellameduthu-vechu

Muthassiyonnu  Murukki

Kannadachu  onnu  japichu-pinne

Muthassi  paadi thudangi

 

After keeping aside  the Thamboola  box,

Muthassi, chewed the paan

Closed  her eyes  and Chanted-Then

Muthassi   started  singing

പണ്ട് ദശരഥ മന്നൻ - മക്ക

ളില്ലാതെ ദുഃഖിച്ച കാലം

പുത്രകാമേഷ്ടി കഴിച്ചു - മക്ക

ളുണ്ടായി നാലുപേരപ്പോൾ

 

Pandu  Dasaratha  mannan-makka

Lillathe  Dukhicha  Kalam

Puthra  Kameshti Kazhichu-Makka

Lunadaayi Naalu  Perappol

 

Long  at a time   when  king Dasaratha

Did  not have  any kids  and was sorrowing

He performed Puthra kameshti-he got

Children, four  of them

Lakshmana sathrugnarallo- Sumi

Thrakkulla  randu suthanmaar

 

Kausalyya gave  birth  to Rama,

Bharatha  was  born to Kaikeyi

Lakshmana and satharugna –oh

Were  the children of  Sumithra

The eldest among the children was Ramas-

The real incarnation  of Lord Vishnu

The Daughter  of Janaka  Seetha

Was she not  Goddess  Lakshmi

Vaanennu orikkal  thelinju

Rakshasanmaareyakathi –Yaga

Rakshayum cheithu Munikkai

 

Rama who was a boy , proved

That  he was strong,

By removing  the Rakshasas and protecting

The   Yaga   of  a saint

കാലയത്തിങ്കലണഞ്ഞു

വമ്പിച്ച വില്ലു കുലച്ചു - രാമ

ചന്ദ്രനും സീതയെ വേട്ടു.

 

Thadakaye  kola cheithu –jana

Kalayathingal ananju

Vambicha  villu kulachu-Rama

Chandranum   Seethaye  Cettu

 

He killed   Thadaka- Went,

Towards the  home  of Janaka

Broke  the huge  boe  and

Ramachandra  married  Sita

Muthassi  straightened  herself and chanted

മറ്റൊരു വില്ലുമായെത്തി  മാർഗ്ഗ

മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ ഭാർഗ്ഗവ രാമൻ

ആ വില്ലു വാങ്ങിക്കുലച്ചു  - രാമ

നാമുനിദർപ്പമടക്കി

 

Mathoru  villumayethi  Maarga

Madhyathil Bhargava  Raman

AA villu vaangi kulachu-Raman

Aa muni  darpamadakki

 

With another bow  came

In the  middle  way  Bharagava  Rama\

After  taking the bow , he bent it

And brought under control  the pride of that saint

Muthassi  became ecstatic, and chanted

Muthasi yonu yezhunethu

Balakanmaarum  Thozhuthu-cholli

Rama  Hare  jaya Rama

 

Slowly  The chapter  of Boys  was sung,

And Muthassi Got up

And the boys saluted her and told

ചെല്ലവുമായുമ്മറത്തു - വന്നു

മുത്തശ്ശി വീണ്ടുമിരുന്നു

ചെല്ലക്കിടാങ്ങളും വന്നു - പിന്നെ

മുത്തശ്ശി പാടിത്തുടങ്ങി.

 

Chellavumai ummarathu vannu

Muthassi  veendum irunnu

Chella kidangalum vannu-Pinne

Muthasi  paadi  thudangi

 

With betel box  Muthassi  again,

Came out to the courtyard

The pet  kids  also came-then

Muthassi   started singing

Ramaa  Hare, jays  Rams-Raghu

രാമനും സോദരന്മാരും  - കൊച്ചു

പുത്തൻ മണവാട്ടിമാരും

കാലത്തിനൊപ്പം വളർന്നു  - മെല്ലെ

യൗവ്വനം വന്നു തെളിഞ്ഞു.

Puthan manivaattimaarum

Kaalathinoppam valarnnu-melle

Youvanam  vannu  thelinju

 

Rama  , his brothers  and the  new,

Small  Wives

Grew up as per time-Slowly

Youth came  and they  shined.

നച്ഛനൊരുങ്ങിയ നേരം

കൈകേയിവന്നു ശഠിച്ചു  - വേണ

മിപ്പോഴേ രണ്ടു വരങ്ങൾ

 

Ramannu  raja  kireedam –nalkaan

Achan orungiya  neram

Kaikeyi  vanni  sadichu-Venam

Ippozhe  randu  varangal

 

When the father  got prepaeed,

To give the crown  to Rama

Kaikeyi became adamant-Now itself

I want those   two boons

Muthassi  turned her  palms up  and told

രാജ്യം ഭരതന് വേണം - നൽകൂ

രാമന് കാനന വാസം

രാജാവ് മോഹിച്ചു വീണു - അയ്യോ

രാമാഭിഷേകം മുടങ്ങി

 

Rajyam Bharathanu  venam –Nalkoo

Ramannu  Kanana  Vaasam

Rajavu mohichu  Veenu-Ayyo

Ramabhishekam Mudangi

 

The kingdom is needed for Bharatha, give

Rama  life  in the forest

The king fainted   and fell- alas

The crowning of Rama  got stopped

Muthassi  potti  karanju-cholli

Muthassi wailing  and weeping told

കാനന വാസത്തിനായി - രാമൻ

കാഷായ വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു

സീതയും കൂടെയിറങ്ങി - തമ്പി

ലക്ഷ്മണനും പുറപ്പെട്ടു

Kaashaya vasthram  Darichu

Seethayum  Koode  irangi-Thambi

Lakshmananum  Purappettu

 

For living   in the forest  , Rama

Wore  the ochre  dress

Seetha also started with him ,The younger brother

Lakshamana also started  with them

With a stuttering voice  , Muthassi  told

വാൽമീകി തന്നെയും കണ്ടു

ചിത്രകൂടാചലത്തിങ്ക  - ലവർ

ചിത്തം തെളിഞ്ഞു വസിച്ചു

 

Kaattil alanju  nadannu chennu

Valmiki  Thanneyyum kandu

Chithra koodachalathingal avar

Chitham  thelinju  vasichu

 

After wandering   in the forest, they went

To Hermitage  of Valmiki and saw him

And in in the mountain of  Chithra koota

They  lived  with a very clear mind

 

മുത്തശ്ശി വീർപ്പൊ ന്നയച്ചു - ചൊല്ലി

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ രാമ 

 

Muthassi  Veerpu onnayachu –Cholli

Rama  Hare  Jaya Rama

 

Muthassi  once  sighed   and said

Rama Hare  Jaya   Rama

 

മക്കളെച്ചൊല്ലി വിളിച്ചു

മന്നവൻ വീണു മരിച്ചു

അച്ഛൻറെയന്ത്യമറിഞ്ഞു - തല

തല്ലിക്കരഞ്ഞു ഭരതൻ

 

Makkale  cholli  vilichu

Mannavan  Veenu marichu

Achande  anthyam arinju-thala

Thalli  karanju  Bharathan

 

Calling and calling his children

The king   fell down dead

Knowing abiut  the end of his father ,

Bharatha  Beat on his head and cried

Muthassiyonnu  Vithumbi-Cholli

Rama  Hare  Jaya Rama

 

Muthassi  once  sighed   and said

Rama Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

അഗ്രജനെച്ചെന്നു കണ്ടു  - കാട്

വിട്ടുവരേണമെന്നോതി

രാമൻ  വരില്ലെന്നറിഞ്ഞു - രാമ

പാദുകം വാങ്ങിത്തിരിച്ചു

 

Agrajane  chennu kandu –kaadu

Vittu varenam yennothi

Raman  varillennarinju-Rama

Paadhukam Vaangi  thrichu

 

Going amd meeting his elder brother-he told

Him to leave the forest and come back

Knowing that Rama will not come, he got

Slippers of Rama  and came back

 

മുത്തശ്ശി വീണു വണങ്ങി  - ചൊല്ലി

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ രാമ

 

Muthassi  Veenu  vanangi –cholli

Rama  Hare  jaya  Rama

 

Muthassi  fell down and saluted and told

Rama Hare  Jaya Rama

 

പാദുകം വച്ച് നമിച്ചു - രാമ

രാജ്യം ഭരിച്ചു ഭരതൻ

ഭരിച്ച ദുഃഖം പൊറുത്തു - രാമ

നാമം ജപിച്ചു ജനങ്ങൾ

 

Padhukam vachu namichu –Rama

Rajyam Bharichu Bharathan

Bhaaricha  Dukham pporuthu-Rama

Namam  japichu  Janangal

 

Keeping the slippers and saluting , Bharatha

Ruled   the kingdom of Rama

Stifling very great sorrow, The people

Chanted  the Name of Rama

 

മുത്തശ്ശി കണ്ണ് തുടച്ചു - ചൊല്ലി

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ രാമ 

 

Muthassi  Kannu  thudachu-cholli

Rama Hare  Jaya Rama

 

Wiping her eyes  Muthachi  told

Rama  Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

ഇങ്ങനെ നല്ലൊരയോദ്ധ്യാ - കാണ്ഡ

മെന്നുപറഞ്ഞു മുത്തശ്ശി

ഉണ്ണികളൊപ്പമിരുന്നു - ചൊല്ലി

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ രാമ

 

Ingane nalloru  ayodhya –kaanda

Mennu  Praranju  Muthassi

Unnikaloppamirunnu  -cholli

Rama Hare Jaya Rama

 

Like this is the chapter  on Ayodhya

മുത്തം കൊടുത്തു ചിരിച്ചു - കൊണ്ടു 

മുത്തശ്ശി പാടിത്തുടങ്ങി 

 

Kaattilananja  Ramande  Kadha,

Kelkkanamennu  kidaangal

Muthum koduthu chirichu  kondu,

Mthassi  paadi thudamgi

 

The children wanted to hear story,

Of  Rama who has entered  the forest

Giving them a kiss and laughing

Muthassi  continued her  singing

കാട്ടിലെ മാമുനിമാരെ - ചെന്നു

കാണുക നാമെന്നു രാമൻ

സീതയും തമ്പിയുമായി  - ചിത്ര

കൂടാചലം വിട്ടിറങ്ങി

 

Kaattile  mamunimaare  chennu

Kaanuka  naam yennu  Raman

Seethayum thambiyumai-chithra

Koodachalam  vittu irangi

 

Rama proposed that they visit

And see  the great sages  of the forest

And along with sita  and his brother,

They got down from Chithra koota mountain

 

മുത്തശ്ശിയെന്തോ നിനച്ചു - ചൊല്ലി

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ രമ

 

Muthassi  yentho ninachu  Cholli

Rama  Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

Thinking  about some thing, Muthassi told

Ramaa Hare Jaya Rama

 

കുന്തത്തിലാനയെ കോർത്തു - കുതി

ച്ചെത്തി വിരാധൻ  വിഴുങ്ങാൻ

രാമബാണത്താലെ ശാപം - നീങ്ങി

രാക്ഷസൻ വിദ്യാധരനായി

 

Kundathil aanaye korthu,kuthi-

Chethi Viradhan Vizhunguvaan

Rama Banathaale saapam neengi

Rakshasan  Vidhyadharan oil

 

Carrying an elepant  on his spear, Viradha

Jumped and reached there to Swallow

But due to Rma’s arrow , his curse  came to an end

And that  Rakshasa  became  a Vidhyadhara

 

 

മുത്തശ്ശിമേൽപ്പോട്ടു നോക്കി - ചൊല്ലി

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ രമ

 

Muthassi melpottu nokki cholli

Rama Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

Muthassi saw  above  and told

Rama Hare  Jaya Rama

 

ശ്രീരാമദർശനം കിട്ടി - ശര 

ഭംഗൻ സമാധിയടഞ്ഞു

രാക്ഷസരെക്കൊന്നു രാമൻ - ദണ്ഡ

കാരണ്യമൊന്നു വിളങ്ങി

 

Sri Rama  darsanam kitti-sara

Bangan Samadhi  adanju

Rakshasare  konnu Raman-Danda

Karanyam onnu  Vilangi

 

Sarabanga saw  Rama  in person,

And he  attained Samadhi(went to heaven)

Rama  killed  the Rakshasas and

Dandaka forest   shined

Muthassi with a  very clear  heart told

Rama  Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

ദക്ഷിണ ദിക്കിലഗസ്ത്യൻ - തന്നെ

ദർശിച്ചു പഞ്ചവടിയിൽ

ആശ്രമമൊന്നു ചമച്ചു - പിന്നെ

യാശ്വാസമോടെ വസിച്ചു

 

Dakshina dhikkil  agasthyan –thanne

Darsichu  , panchavatiyil

AAsramam onnu  chamachu-pinne

Aswasathode  Vasichu

 

They saw Agasthya  in the  southern direction

TAnd in Panchavati,

They built an Asram and lived

With  peace  there

Muthassi Kannonnu adachu  -Cholli

Rama Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

Muthassi  just closed  her eyes  and told

Rama Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

ആശ്രമമുറ്റത്തൊരുനാൾ - ഒരു

സുന്ദരി വന്നു കിണുങ്ങി

രാവണസോദരിയാൾക്കു - രാമ

ചന്ദ്രനെ വേൾക്കണം പോലും

 

AAsramathu oru naal-oru

Sundari vannu  kinungi

Ravana sodariyaalkku-Rama

Chandrane  velkkanam polum

 

One day in the hermitage , one

Pretty lady came and muttered

The sister  of Ravana, it seems

Wanted  to marry  Rama

 

മുത്തശ്ശി കാർക്കിച്ചു തുപ്പി   - ചൊല്ലി

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ രാമ

 

Muthassii kaakichu thuppi-Cholli

Rama  Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

Muthassi spit   with  disgust and said

Rama Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

സീതയൊന്നൂറിച്ചിരിച്ചു - ശൂർപ്പ

ണഖയലറിയടുത്തു

ലക്ഷ്മണനാഞ്ഞോന്നു വെട്ടി - മൂക്കു

നഷ്ടമായ് രാക്ഷസിയോടി

 

Seetha onnu oori  chirichu-Soorpa

Nakha alari  Aduthu

Lakshmanan aanjonnu  vetti-Mooku

Nashtamayi, Rakshasi odi

 

Seetha laughed  with deep emotion –

Soorpanakha shouted   and neared her

Lakshmana cut her  deeply, She

Lost  her nose  and Rakshasi  Ran

 

മുത്തശ്ശി കയ്യിണ കൊട്ടി  - ചൊല്ലി

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ രാമാ

 

Muthassi  kayyina kotti  -cholli

Rama  Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

Muthassi clapped  her hands  and told

Rama Hare Jaya  Rama

 

പറ്റമായ്  രാക്ഷസരെത്തി - രാമ

നൊറ്റക്കവരെ വധിച്ചു

മാനിൻറെ രൂപം ധരിച്ചു - വന്ന

മാരീചനെയും വധിച്ചു

Rama killed them all   alone

He also killed  Mareecha,

Who came  in the form of a deer

പക്ഷി ജടായു തടുത്തു - പക്ഷെ

പുഷ്പകം പൊങ്ങിപ്പറന്നു

 

Sanyasi vesham camanju-vannu

Ravanan seethaye kattu

Pakshi Jatayu  thaduthu –pakshe

Pushpakam pongi parannu

 

Dressing as a sage  , came,

Ravana and kidnapped sita

The bird Jatayu  stopped him, but

Pushpaka rose  up and flew

Muthassi  thanne vanangi

Thinnayil  chuthum  irunnu-Pinne

Muthassi Padi thudangi

 

The children came woith respect

Saluted  the Muthassi

And sat round her  in the verandhaand later

Muthassi  started  singing

Searchindg Sita  walked  Rama Chandra

And son of Sumithra

Jatayu who had seen her-saw ,

ഭക്ത ശബരി കൊടുത്ത - പഴം

ഭക്ഷിച്ചു ദേവൻ തെളിഞ്ഞു

 

Rakshasanaya Kabandan-Rama

Sayakathaal gathi nedi

Baktha  Sabari  kodutha  pazham

Bakshichu devan  thelinju

Kabanda  who was a Rakshasa  , by

Rama’s arrow   attained heaven

Eating the fruits  offered  by

The Devoted sabari , Rama became  clear

ലക്ഷ്മണന്മാരെ വരുത്തി

 

Pamba kadakkave  kandu-Rishya

Mookathu ninnu  sugreevan

Manthri  Hanumane  vittu-Rama

Lakshmananmaare  varuthi

 

When they  were  crossoing Pamba, Sugreeva

From Rishya  mooka   saw  them

He  sent  Hanuman  and made

Rama and Lakshmana  come

Muthassi  chewed betel leaf and told,

Rama, the matchless  Rama

 

ശക്തനാം രാമാനുമായി  - ഒരു

സഖ്യവും ചെയ്തു സുഗ്രീവൻ

ബാലിയെ രാമൻ വധിച്ചാൽ - താനോ

സീതയെ കണ്ടു പിടിക്കാം

Sakhyavum cheithu  Sugreevan

Baliye  Raman vadhichaal-Thano

Seethaye  Kandu pidikkam

 

Along with the strong Rama,

Sugrreva  signed  a treaty

If Rama kills Bali, he will

Help in finding Sita

മാമരച്ചോട്ടിൽ മറഞ്ഞു - രാമ

നമ്പെയ്തു ബലിക്ക് നേരെ

 

Bali sugrreva samara kandu

Maalokarokke  nadungi

Maamara chottil  Maranju –Raman

Ambeithu , balikku nere

 

Seeing  the fight  between Bali ,

And Sugreeva  all  the devas  shivered

Standing below  a  mango tree,

Rama sent an arrow  towards  Bali

Kishkinda vanu  Sugreevan-Vrutha

Bali  was given salvation and,

Thara was  given advice of philosophy

Kishkinda was  ruled by Sugreeva and Ramachandra

Yalavum vaangi Hanuman

 

The huge  monkey  army , later

Got out    searching  for Sita

Hanuman went  and saluted Rama

And got from him recognition sign

ലോരത്തു ചെന്നു  കപികൾ

സമ്പാതി ചൊല്ലിയറിഞ്ഞു - സീത

യുണ്ടല്ലോ ലങ്കാപുരിയിൽ

 

Sitaye  kaananju uzhannu –kada

Lorathu chennu kapikal

Sampathi  cholli yarinju-Sita

Yundallo  Lanka puriyil

 

They wandered unable  to see Sita

Monkeys went near   the sea  shore

And from words of Sampathi  came to know

That  Sita  is there  in city of Lanka

Muthassi massaged her chest   andtold

അക്കരെച്ചെല്ലാൻ മിടുക്കൻ - ഹനു

മാനെന്ന് ജാംബവാനപ്പോൾ

ഒന്നങ്ങലറി ഹനുമാൻ - ചെന്നു

മാഹേന്ദ്രപർവ്വതമേറി

 

Akkare  chellan midukkan –Hanu

Maanennu Jambavanappol

Onnu angu alari  , Hanyman chennu

Mahendra  parvathameri

 

Then Jambavan shouted , the expert

To go to the other  shore is Hanuman

And then Hanuman went

And climbed the Mahendra  mountain

After  telling the chapter on Kishkinda

Muthassi stooped for a while

And with devotion every one told

വന്നില്ലയെന്നു  കിടാങ്ങൾ

Rama kadhakale  kettu-mathi ,

Vannilayennu kidangal

Yengilo  kettalumennu  -cholli

Muthassi  Padukayayee

 

The Children told that  they were not

Got satisfaction in hearing   Rama’s story

Then hear  said,

Muthassi  and   started  singing

Rama went  up the mountain,

Stood saluting with  clasped hands

Thought  of Rama in his mind and then,

Jumped  towards  Lanka

കയ്ക്കു തിരിച്ചടി നൽകി

 

Naga mathavin Pareeksha –tha

Ranm cheithu  Sri Rama Dhoothan

Nandi mainakathinnu yeki-Simhi’

Kaykku thirichadi  nalki

 

The test  by mother  of serpents-the  emissarty

Of rama crossed   that test

He gave  thanks to Mainaks and

Gave  tit for tat  to simhika

ഉള്ളിൽ കടന്നു തിരഞ്ഞു - കണ്ടു

സീതയെ പൂമരച്ചോട്ടിൽ

 

KOttakku  Kaavalirikkum –Lamka

Lakshmiye  thalli  Kapeendran

Ullil  kadannu thiraju-Kandu

Sithaye  poo mara chottil

That  king of monkeys beat  Lanka Lakshmi

Who stood guard  to the fort

Went in  , searched and found

Sita below   a flowering tree

Muthassi became  emotional  and told

രാവണ കീർത്തനം പാടി  - കാവ

ലാണല്ലോ രാക്ഷസിമാരും

Kanneeru  thookunnu sita

Ravana keerthanam paadi-Kava

Laanallo Rakshasimaarum

 

Always chanting Rama, Rams

Sita   was shedding tears

Always singing  praises of Ravana

The Rakshasis   were guarding her

യാളവും കൈമാറി ദൂതൻ

പിന്നെയുദ്യാനം തകർത്തു  - അടി

ച്ചക്ഷകുമാരനെ ക്കൊന്നു

 

Soothrathil  Sithaye  kandu –Ada

Yaalavum  kai maari  dhoothan

Pinne  udhyanam thakarthu-adichu

Aksha kumarane  konnu

 

Using Tricks after eeing sita

The emissary exchanged symbol of reconition

And later he powdered the garden and killed

Aksha Kumara  by beating

Dushta vinasana  Rama

 

Blinking her  eyes Muthassi told,

Rama the destroyer  of bad people

 

രാക്ഷസന്മാർ പിടികൂടി - രാജ

സന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു

നല്ല വിഭീഷണൻ ചൊല്ലു - കേട്ടു

കൊല്ലാതെ വിട്ടു കപിയെ

 

Raksanmar  pidi koodi-Raja

Sannidhiyil  kondu vannu

Nalla vibheeshanan  Chollu Kettu

Kollathe  vittu kapiye

 

Rakshasa  caught him  and took him,

Before  the court of the king

Obeying the words  of Good Vibheeshana

He was left  without killing

സജ്ജന രക്ഷക രാമ

Muthassi told along with hope

ലക്കളി തീക്കളിയായി

മർക്കടൻ തീവെച്ചു ലങ്ക - യൊട്ടു

മുക്കാലും ചുട്ടു കരിച്ചു

Lakkali theekaliyayi

Markatan thee vechu lanka yottu

Mukkalum   chuttu   karichu

 

Inspite of that they set fire to his tail,

And that  play  became  fire play

That monkey set fire  to most

Of Lanka   and burnt it

Opening her palms , Muthassi told

Rama  who destroys pride

നെത്തി മഹേന്ദ്ര മുകളിൽ

വാനരന്മാരോടിയെത്തി - നല്ല

വാർത്ത കേട്ടാർത്തു വിളിച്ചു

 

Otha kuthippinnu  vayuputhran

Yethi Mahendra mukalil

Vanaranmar  odi yethi-nalla

Vaartha kettu aarthu  vilichu

 

In one jump that sonof wind god

Reached  top of Mahendra,

The monkeys came running

And shouted with joy hearing the news

Muthassi broke in to smile and told

ദേവൻറെ സന്നിധി ചെന്നു

വീരനാം ഭക്ത ഹനുമാൻ - അട

യാളവും വെച്ചു  വണങ്ങി

 

Vanaranmar  othu koodi-Rama

Devande   sannidhi chennu-

Veeranaam baktha  hanuman ada

Aalavum  vechu vanangi

 

The monkeys   together  went,

In from of   Sri Rama

And the valorous devotee  Hanuman,

Kept the symbols and saluted

 

മുത്തശ്ശി കുമ്പിട്ടു കൂപ്പി - ചൊല്ലി

സജ്ജന  സേവിത രാമ

 

Muthassi kumbittu  koopi cholli

Sajjana sevitha Rama

 

Muthassi bent forward saluted and said,

Rama who is served   by good people

മന്ദഹസിച്ചു മുത്തശ്ശി

ഈണത്തിലുണ്ണികൾ പാടി - രഘു

EEnathil unnikal  paadi

Rama hare  jaya  rama

 

After  telling the chapter  of beauty

Muthussi  broke  in to pretty smile

And  joined totogether sweetly the kids sang

Varmikka venam yennayi

Thonnu onnu kaatti  chirichu  pinne

Muthassi  padi thudangi

 

The children became enthusiastic and said

The story should  be described

Muthassi showed her teeth , laughed

And Muthassi  started singing

Palam panithu kapikal

Yellarum  akkare chennu, sakhava

Ya  Vibheeshanan oppam

 

Putting huge stones , the monkeys

Built a  good bridge

All people  went to other shore,

Along with their friend  Vibheeshana

സജ്ജന രക്ഷക രാമ

Sajjana Rakshaka  Rama

 

Opening her  hands  , Muthassi said,

Rama who protects   good people

 

ശ്രീരാമനമ്പൊന്നയച്ചു - രാവ

ണൻറെ കിരീടം തെറിച്ചു

അന്നു തുടങ്ങിയ യുദ്ധം - പതി

നെട്ടു നാളോളം  നടന്നു

 

Sri Raman ambonnayachu, rava

Nande kireedam  therichu

Annu thudangiya yudham –pathi

Nettu naalolalam nadannu

 

Rama sent one arrow, the crown,

Of Ravana  was thrown out

The war  that started that day,

Went on for eighteen days

മറ്റവരൊക്കെ ഉണർന്നു

 

Megha nadhande nagasthram  kondu

Rama sainyam bodamathu

Vannu  garudan vanangi-boda

Mathavarokke unarnnu

 

Being hit by serpent arrow  of Meghanadha

The army  of Rama  lost consciousness

The Garuda came and saluted

All those who lost consciousness  awoke

Muthassi laughed  and told,

കൂർക്കം വലിച്ചുറങ്ങുന്ന - കുംഭ

കർണ്ണനെ തട്ടിയുണർത്തി

രാവണൻ പോരിനയച്ചു - പക്ഷെ

രാമശരമേറ്റു ചത്തു

 

Koorkkam valichurangunna  , kumbha

Karnane thattiyunarthi

Ravanan porinnayachu-Pakshe

Rama sarameththu  chathu

Kumba karna who was  sleeping with,

Snores  was  woken up ,

And Ravana sent him for war, but

മുത്തശ്ശിയൊന്നു നിവർന്നു - ചൊല്ലി

സത്യ  പരാക്രമ രാമ

Muthassi straightened  herself and told,

Rama  of true valour

 

ബ്രഹ്മാസ്ത്രം കൊണ്ടിന്ദ്രജിത്ത് - രാമ

സൈന്യത്തെ വീണ്ടും തളർത്തി

രാവണശൂലം തറച്ചു ബോധ

മറ്റു സൗമിത്രിയൊരിക്കൽ

 

Brahmastram kondu indra jithu Rama

Sainyathe  veendum thalaarthi

Ravana soolam tharachu bodam aththu,

Saumithri  orikkal

 

Once Indrajith made  the  army of Rama

Weak by   his Brahmastra

Once due to spear  of Ravana

Lakshmana lost his conciousness

 

മുത്തശ്ശി കണ്ണുനിറച്ചു - ചൊല്ലി

ദുഃഖ നിവാരണ രാമ  

 

Muthassi  kannu nirachu  cholli

Dukha nivarana Rama

 

With eyes full of tears  Muthassi told

Rama who  removes  sorrow

 

അങ്ങ് ഹിമവാനിൽ ചെന്നു - കൊണ്ടു

വന്നു മരുന്നു  ഹനുമാൻ

ആണല്ലോ സൗമിത്രി കൊന്നു - മേഘ

നാഥനെ ദിവ്യ ബാണത്താൽ 

 

Angu  himavanil chennu  kondu

Vannu   marunnu  Hanuman aanallo

SAumithri konnu megha  ,

Nadhane Dhivya  banathaal

 

Was it not Hanuman  who went,

To Himalayas  and brought  divine medicines

SAumithri  killed  Megha  Nadha,

Using his   divine  arrows

രാമാ  ഹരേ ജയ  രാമ

 

Muthassi  veendum murukki –cholli

Rama  Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

Muthassi again chewed pan and sid

Rama  Hare  Jaya  Rama

 

ബ്രഹ്മാസ്ത്ര മെയ്തു ശ്രീമാൻ - ദശ

കണ്ഠൻറെ  യന്ത്യം വരുത്തി

ലങ്ക വിഭീഷണനേകി  - സീത

യഗ്നി പരീക്ഷ ജയിച്ചു

 

Brahmastram  yeithu  sri Raman-dasa

Kandande anthyam  varuthi

Lanka  vibheeshananeki-Sita

Agni pareeksha  jayichu

 

Rama   sent Brahmastra   and 

Made  an  end of the ten headed one

Lanka  was given to Vibheeshana , Sita

Won the  test  by fire

Muthassi  kayyina  kotti  choli

Narayana  , Rama Rama

 

Muthassi clapped  both hands and told

Narayana, Rama Rama

 

പുഷ്പകമേറിയെല്ലാരും - വീണ്ടും

എത്തിയയോദ്ധ്യാപുരിയിൽ

ശ്രീരാമപട്ടാഭിഷേകം - നല്ല

കെങ്കേമമായി നടന്നു

 

Pushpakameri  yellorum-veendum

Yethi ayodhya  puriyil

Sri Rama Pattabhishekam  nalla.

Kemkemamayi  Nadannu

 

All people climbed  Pushpaka  plave

And reached  the town of ayodhya

The crowning  of Rama ,

Took place  in a very grand manner

സീതാ പതേ രാമ രാമ

 

Muthassi kai koopi ninnu-choli

Sita pathe  Rama Rama

 

Muthassi   stood saluting with folded hands  and said

Lord of Sita , Rama , Rama

 

സത്യധർമ്മാദി പുലർന്നു -സ്വർഗ്ഗ

തുല്യമായി രാമരാജ്യം

രാമായണ  കഥ പാടി  - നല്ല

പൈതങ്ങളേ  വളർന്നാലും

 

SAthya dharmaadhi  pularnnu- swarga

Thulyamayi Rama Rajyam

Ramayana Kadha paadi-nalla

Paithangale  valarnnalum

 

The truth and Dharma  rose up,

Rama’s country   became  equal to heaven

Singing   the story  of Ramayana,Oh good

Children  please  grow up

ബദ്ധമോദേന കിടാങ്ങൾ - ചൊല്ലി

Yudha kandam kadha yevam  cholli

Muthassi niruthiya neram

Badha modhena kidaangal cholli

Rama Hare  Jaya  Rama

Rama hare h jaya Rama-cholli

Rama hare jaya  Rama

 

When Muthassi told the  chapter of Youdha,

And   when she stooped

Withrising joy the   children said

Rama Hare jaya  Rama

Rama Hare jaya Rama-told

Rama Hare  Jaya Rama
