Mohini rachitha Krishna stotram
Mohini rachitha Krishna stotram
Translated by
P.R.Ramachander
(This very great and rare Stotra was brought to my notice by Mr.Justin Reynolds , a great devotee of Lord Krishna.
The stotra in Sanskrit is availablein, sanskritdocuments.org/all_pdf/mohinikrishnastotra.pdf.
It is supposed to be written by Mohini. Mohini is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu on two occasions. The first one was to prevent the nectar got from churning the ocean falling in the hands of Asuras. He a lso took this incarnation to prevent Basmasura hurting Lord Shiva. No where in the stotra Lord Krishna is mentioned directly ,
The peculiarity of this stotra is that it is the only one that is known to me which helps a man get married/Get married to his beloved.)
Mohinyuvacha:-
Mohini told:-
1.Sarvendryanam pravaram Vishnor amsam cha manasam,
Thadeva karmaanaam bheejam thad udhbhava namosthuthe.
The first among all the sense organs , the part of Lord Vishnu is the mind ,
And my salutations to that which is born out of the seed of its work.
2.Swayam athma hi bhagawan, Jnana roopo Maheswara ,
Namo Brahman jagath sruth thadhubhava namosthuthe.
The god is himself the soul and he is the greatest god with the form of wisdom,
Salutations to Brahman and to the one from whom Brahma who created was born.
3.SArvajitha , jagath jetha, jeeva jeeva manohara ,
Rathibheeja, rathiswamin , rathipriya namosthuthe.
Salutations to him who has won everybody , who has won the universe,
Who is the pretty soul of all beings , who is the root of pleasure ,
Who is the god of pleasure* and one who likes pleasure.
*It could be also “RathI”, the wife of Manmatha,
4.Saswad yoshidhanushtana, yoshid pranathika Priya,
Yoshi vahanam, yoshasthra yosha dwandwo namosthuthe.
I salute the two goddesses and one who is permanently with them,
And Who is dearer than soul to them , as well as ,
The vehicle of those goddesses and the weapons of those Goddesses.
5.Pathi sadhya kara sesha roopadhara , gunasraya,
Sugandhi vatha sachiva , Madhu mithra namosthuthe.
Salutations to the one who is considered fit for his riding .
To the one who assumed the form of Adhisesha,
Who depends on good qualities, who carries the perfumed air ,
And who is the friend of the sweet one.
6.SAswad yoni kruthadhara , sthree sandarshana vardhana,
Vidagdhaanaam virahinaam prananthaka namosthuthe.
Salutations to him who is the basis of the creation done, again and again,
Who increases the chance of meeting ladies and ,
Who is the killer of undigested food and pangs from separation.
7.Akrupa yeshu thenartha , theshaam jnanam vinasanam,
Anooha roopa bhaktheshu krupa sindho namosthuthe.
If your grace is not there , it would mean destruction of his wisdom,
So salutations to the ocean of mercy from this careless devotee.
8.Thapasvinam cha thapasaam Vighna, bheejaaya leelaya,
Mana sakaamam mukthaanam karthu shaktham namosthuthe.
I salute him who is capable of removing passion from the mind,
And also problems for penance to the sages as a matter of play.
9.Thapa saadhya sthadha aaradhya sadaivam Pancha bhouthika,
Panchendra krutha adhara Pancha bana namosthuthe.
I salute the God with five arrows , who helps in penance and worship,
Of all the Gods as well as the five elements and who is the basic of action of the five sense organs.
10.Mohinithyeva mukthaathu manasa saa vidhe pura,
Vira rama namra vakthra bhaboova dhyana thathparaa.
In the places of stay , Those who followed Mohini were liberated,
When they prayed with bent heads and were interested in meditation
11.uktham madhyamdhino kanthe stotramethath manoharam,
Puraa durvaasasa datham mohinyai Gandha madhane.
Repeat during noon , oh dear , this stotra
which was given by Sage Durvasa to Mohini ,
at the Gandha madhana mountain.
12.Stotra methath maha punyam kaami bhakthya yadhaa pateth,
Abheeshtam labhathe noonam , nishkalanko bhavathe dhruvam.
If this very holy stotra which if read with devotion by the passionate one ,
Without doubt his wish would be fulfilled ,
And he will definitely would become stainless.
13.Cheshtaam na kuruthe kama kadhachith api tham priyam,
Bhavedh arogi sri yuktha , kama deva sama prabha.
Vanitham labhathe sadhvim pathim trilokya mohinim.
Without taking any action , sometimes the loved one would become his own,
And he would be blessed with health and wealth and shine like the God of love,
And also he would get the pious lady who is the mind stealer in the three worlds as his wife.
Ithi Sri Mohini krutham Krishna stotram samaptham
Thus ends the prayer to Lord Krishna composed by Mohini.

Mangala Chandika stotram
Mangala Chandika stotram
Translated by

(The text of this stotra is given in various ways in different places and I have pieced out the complete prayer by consulting various places. The text in Sanskrit is given in http://shivu360.blogspot.com/2011/02/mangala-chandika-stotram.html. Slightly different text is given in http://ioustotra.blogspot.com/2011/09/mangal-chandika-stotram.html along with meaning in Marathi and English(incomplete) There are many claims that this stotra is an antidote to the Mangalya dosha in the horoscopes. There is no mention about this in the text. The word “Mangala” indicates “Auspiciousness” as well as “Planet Mars” and this prayer is recommended to be chanted on Tuesdays. The confusion must have come from this.)
Om Hreem sreem kleem sarva poojye devi Mangala Chandike,
Iym kroom phat swahethyevam cha apya ekavinsakharo Manu.
Poojya kalpa tharuschaiva Bhakthaanaam sarva kamadha,
Dasa laksha jape naiva manthra sidhir bhave nrunaam,
Manthra sidhir bhavedh sa Vishnur Sarva Kamadha,
Dhyanam cha sruyathaan Brahman Vedoktham sarva sammatham,
If Man worship s with the twenty one lettered Chant,
“Om Hreem, Sreem , Kleem Sarva poojaye devi Mangala Chandike , Iym kroom phat swaha”
She who is like the wish fulfilling tree to him who worships , would fulfill all the wishes of that devotee,
And if he chants it ten lakh times , he would be able to master all occult powers,
For with the mastery of this chant , Lord Vishnu attained all his wishes,
And Lord Brahma meditating and hearing it, was recognized by the Vedas.
Dhyanam
Devim Shodasa varsheeyaam , sarva susthira youvanam,
SArva roppa gunadyaam cha komalaangim manoharaam,

SAmsara sagare ghore potha roopaam varaam bhaje.
Deyascha dhyana mithyevam sthavanam sryathaam mune,
Prayatha sankata grastho yena thushtava Sankara.
The goddess is of sixteen years age , and is blessed with permanent youth,
She is blessed with all forms and all good qualities, she has pretty form, she steals the mind,
She is of the colour of White Champa flower, she has the sparkle of billions of moons,
She wears cloth purified by fire and wears ornaments studded with gems,
She is bent due to the weight of her breasts and wears the garland of jasmine,
She has lips of the colour of Bimba fruit, she has good teeth, she is pure and is like the lotus flower of autumn.
She looks pleased with a slow smile and has eyes which are like blue lotus,
She is the mother of the universe, she is the mother and always gives wealth to all,
And she is a boat to cross the ocean of domestic life and is blessed and I salute her.
Oh sage let the meditation and worship for her begin and please hear her prayer,
And thus Shankara made those caught by sorrow as happy.
Sankara Uvacha:-
Lord Shiva said:-
1.Raksha raksha jagan mathar devi Chandike,

*(or one who is general makes things happily auspicious)
2. Harsha mangala dakshecha , mangala chandike,
Shubhe mangala dakshecha , shubha mangala chandike.

And the pure auspicious earth is the pure auspicious Chandika.
3.Mangale , mangalarhe cha , mangalabheeshta devathe ,

She who is always auspicious blesses all with auspiciousness.
4.Poojaye mangala vare cha , mangalabheeshta devathe ,

And she is always worshipped by auspicious kings , who are from the clan of Manus.
5.Mangalaa dishtathrudevi , Mangalaanaam mangale ,
SAmsara mangalaadhare, moksha mangala dhayini.
Please make me auspicious , Oh auspicious one among auspicious,
Oh bearer of auspiciousness in this world, who grants auspiciousness and salvation.
6. Sare cha mangaladhare pare cha sarva karmanaam,
Prathi mangalavare cha poojye cha Mangalapradhe.
She who has auspiciousness at all times makes us succeed in all our actions,
She who is being worshipped on all tuesdays grants auspiciousness.
7.Stotranaanena Shambuscha sthuthwaa Mangala Chandikam,
Prathi mangala vare cha poojayaam thath vaa gatha shiva,
After praising Mangala Chandika using this prayer ,
Every tuesday he worshipped her, and how much greatness did Lord shiva attain because of it?
8. Prathame poojitha devi , Shive na sarva mangala,
Dwitheeye poojithaa sa cha mangalena grahena cha,
9.Thritheeye poojitha Bhadraa mangalena nrupena cha,
Chathurthe Mangala vaare cha Sundari bhi prapoojitha,
10.Panchame Mangala kamkshi r narai mangala Chandika,
First Lord Shiva worshipped the Goddess Sarva Mangala,
Second she was also worshipped the planet Mangal(mars),
Third she was worshipped by Bhadra Kali and also the king in auspiciousness,
Fourth on a Tuesday she was also worshipped by the pretty women,
Fifth she was worshipped my men who wanted auspiciousness,
11. Poojitha prathi visweshu viswesa poojitha sadaa.
Thatha sarvathra sampoojyaa babhuva sureswari,
She is worshipped in every world and the lord of the universe worships her.
And thus that Goddess became one who is worshipped everywhere.
12.Devadhibischa munibhir manubhir manavai mune,

13.Than mangalam bhaveth thasya , na bhaveth thath amangalam,

If the prayer of auspiciousness of the goddess is heard with quite devotion,
BY devas , sages , kings as well as men , oh sage .
Good events will happen in their life and nothing which is not auspicious will ever happen to them.
And the number of his sons and grandsons will increase and day after day , there would only be auspiciousness.

What if I learn several tricks , what if I observe penance daily ,
What if I continuously dip myself in sacred river waters, , Will all these,
Help me to stop the call from the god of death, and so thinking that these are only temporary friends,
I caught hold of your feet and so wherever you kept your mind , I would be satisfied by a mere look,

Shall I tell further, is your mind stone or steel or big boulder,
Are both your ears not working properly and are you acting as if you did not hear,
Is this proper for you , do you like me, what type of anger is this, is this also your action,
Are you sad because of only two kids , whom are you angry with , but in spite of it , will I leave you,
Wherever I go leaving you, will I not become useless, Would I suffer in spite of being near to you,
Oh, this is not either my fault nor yours , see care carefully , are these born to you,
Even if it is my fault or that of yours , please come to shower your grace on me,
Oh God , Oh darling of Parvathi , Oh Nataraja of Chidambaram who gave birth to me.

Making Saturn, Rahu, Kethu, Mercury , Venus , Mars , Jupiter , moon and sun inside me,
Making all the twelve rasis stand equally , after processing the snow like twenty seven stars ,
And cutting the eleven rays that shine behind and after shouting at many,
And after talking before me like fruit and after pulverizing the bad ones wishing bad things,
You saved the volunteer of your volunteers and made him saluted by your volunteers,
And so it is your job to rule over Vanavai Munichamy who has a sweet disposition.

Though I did not find the way and did not pray your feet, though I did not have affection towards you,
Though as a habit I did not go round temples, though I was only doing deceit,
Though I sang the language without ornamentation, though I am top level boorish,
Though I deceive , though I steal even the nation and though I am completely passionate ,
The blame does not come to me but doesnot the blame go to my father and mother, would not the people who see this tell,
Oh God who publicly gave half your body to your wife , can you not protect this boy,
And you who have stacked the big globes so nicely , can you not solve my problems,
Oh God , Oh darling of Parvathi , Oh Nataraja of Chidambaram who gave birth to me.
7.Annai thanthai yennai eendratharkku azhuvano, arivilathatharkku azhuvano,

Eesane , sivakami nesane , yenai eendra , thillai vaazh natarajane.
Would I cry , for my father and mother for having given birth to me?
Would I cry for being not intelligent or would I find fault with the four headed Brahma?
Would I cry for the three desires, would I cry about problems created by my previous birth?
Would I cry for my foolish knowledge , Would I cry thinking that I would be covered by result of my past sins?
Would I realize that I would get salvation? Would I blame myself and cry? Would I blame you and cry?
Would I cry thinking why this penance , would I cry for the ladies, would I cry for increasing the truth?
Would I cry for my poverty , would I cry as to what would be my next birth, please come to tell all this,
Oh God , Oh darling of Parvathi , Oh Nataraja of Chidambaram who gave birth to me.
8.Kayamun mara meethu pinju aruthano, Kanniyargal pazhi kondeno,

Eesane , sivakami nesane , yenai eendra , thillai vaazh natarajane.
Did I pluck the fruit before it got matured, Did I get blame from virgin ladies,
Did I rob someone in the name of loan and make any one suffer,
Did I put thorns in the branch short cut path, Did I do any harm to my mother at birth,
Did I deny the receipt of money by me, Did I became egoistic and rob or murder someone,
Did I berate sages , did I tell great lies and steal wealth, did I find fault with gods,
Did I like the ones with form , did not allow others to join and beat them , What I did , I do afterwards ,
Did I take a bad name as a miser who never gives, please pardon me for all these,
Oh God , Oh darling of Parvathi , Oh Nataraja of Chidambaram who gave birth to me.
9.Thaayaar irundhenna , Thandahayum irundhenna, than piravu yuravu kodi,

Eesane , sivakami nesane , yenai eendra , thillai vaazh natarajane.
What if mother is there , what if father is there , what if you are born in a noble family,
And made mountains of money, What if I got great fame , what if I ruled the earth,
What if I have children, What if I am a teacher, what if I have students,
What if I learn several tricks , what if I observe penance daily ,
What if I continuously dip myself in sacred river waters, , Will all these,
Help me to stop the call from the god of death, and so thinking that these are only temporary friends,
I caught hold of your feet and so wherever you kept your mind , I would be satisfied by a mere look,
Oh God , Oh darling of Parvathi , Oh Nataraja of Chidambaram who gave birth to me.
10.Innamum chollavo , un manam kallo , irumbo , perum parayo,

Eesane , sivakami nesane , yenai eendra , thillai vaazh natarajane.
11. Sani, Rahu, Kethu, Budhan, Shukran , Chevvai, Guru . Chandiran suryan ivarai,
