Varunan kayyil than kodukka,

Yennaal aakathendru othungi nindru than uraithaar.

Haranum athai yedu yedu yendru anantharamum than uraikka

Unable  to bear the troubles  caused by  Soora Pama, the devas

Approached the enemy  of Manmatha(Lord Shiva) started  appealing  one  after  another

Then with great  anger  God saw the  Goddess

And due to that his  power  fell on the  earth

And unable to beat the earth,

Gave it to the hands  of Varuna,

He Said  he cannot do it  and went aside

And when lord Shiva   again  and again said “Take it , take it”

Due to the  words of Lord Shiva  Agni(fire god)  took it

Agni took  it and slowly   walked(walked  like swan)

And left  it in the water  of Ganges

Naanal chedi naduvil  naalu rendai  pirithu

Vanavarkal vanthiu mange varisayudan valainthu  nirkkka

Senkadhiron aaru vanthu sevayudan udhithaar poal

Angayirinthu avatharitha arumayaana aaru mukha

 

Unable  to bear  river ganges also

Divide it in to four and six and kept  in wild bush

Devas  came there  with gifts and stood  surrounding it

And like sun  coming in  six pieces and rose up

Of six faced one  who took incarnation from there

Sankariyum  arinthu vanthu sevayudan pidithu  anaikka

When all the six babies started  crying together

Knowing it six stars  came  down and breast  fed them

And Parvathi  knowing  this   came with affection and embraced  all of them,

And all babies  joined  together

With  six faces  and two sets of six hands

 

Othinaar “Om Namo” yendru, avareyum pidithu anaithu,

Veda srushti cheithavare, Velayudhane paarum

Ompathaam matharkale ?(I did not understand?), umakkaka  undu cheithu

Sambasivan  puthirane, Soorarkalai  thaan vadhaikkka

Thaararkalai thaan vadhaitheer

Devarkalai  thaan kaatheer

Sooranai thaan vadaitha  Soora  samharare Sarnam

Ommudaya leelalikalai thaan uraithu  mudiyaathu  yennal

Yen manathin aasayinaal uraithen

He chanted  “om Namo”, and he  caught and hugged him

“Oh Lord who created the Vedas, Oh Lord who has Vel as weapon please see

Crreated  the ninth maidens  , for your sake

Oh son of Sambashiva, For killing the Sooras

You  killed also the tharkas

You protected  the devas

I surrender  to Soora Samhara  who killed the soora

I will not be able to tell all your sports

Due to the wish of my mind I told

I am a small  devotee

1.Dhyayami narasimhakyam
Brahma vedantagocaram
Bhavabdhi taranopayam
Sankha cakra dharam param

I meditate on Narasimha ,
Who is realized by Brahma and Vedas,
Who is the method to cross the sea of life,
And who holds the divine conch and holy wheel.

2.Nilam ramam ca paribhuya kripa rasena
Stambhe svasakti managham vinidhaya deva
Prahlada rakshana vidhai yati kripa te
Sri narasimha paripalaya mam cha bhaktam

With your sense of mercy you protected Nila Devi and Rama,
And for saving Prahlada , Oh God, out of your mercy,
You came out of the pillar , with all your great sinless and chaste state,
And Oh Narasimha , please take care of me who is your devotee.

3.Indraadi deva nikarasya kirita koti
Pratyupta ratna prati bimbita pada padma
kalpaanta kala ghana garjana tulya nada
Sri narasimha paripalaya mam cha bhaktam

Your lotus like feet which has the glitter of gems,
Reflected the shine of billions of crowns of Indra and other devas,
And your great roaring was similar to the thunder at time of deluge,
And Oh Narasimha , please look after me who is your devotee.

4.Prahlada posha pralayarka samana vaktra
Hoom-kara nirjita nisachara vrunda nada
Sri-narada muni sangha sugiyamana
Sri narasimha paripalaya mam cha bhaktam

You are the saviour of Prahlada , your mouth is like the Sun at deluge,
Your sound “Hoom” makes the groups of nocturnal animals shiver,
And you enjoy the company of the great sage Narada,
And Oh Narasimha , please look after me who is your devotee.

5.Ratrin charadri jatarat parisramsya mana raktam
Nipiya parikalpita saantara mala
Vidravita-akhila suro ugra nrsimha rupam
Sri narasimha paripalaya mam ca bhaktam

You tear apart the nocturnal animals descending the mountain to drink blood,
You squeeze out the dirt which have settled inside us ,
And your terrifying form of Narasimha makes the world tremble.
And Oh Narasimha , please look after me who is your devotee.

6.Yogindra , yoga pariraksaka ,deva deva
Dinaarthi hari vibhava agama geeyamana
Maam veeksya dinam asaranyam aganya-silam
Sri narasimha paripalaya mam ca bhaktam

You are the king and protector of yoga, You are god of gods,
You remove all the sufferings and are worshipped by Vedas and Brihaspathi,
And you please see me , who does not have a home or good qualities,
And Oh Narasimha , please look after me who is your devotee.

7.Prahlada soka vinivarana Bhadra simha
Naktan charendra mada khandana vira simha
Indraadi devajana sanganuta pada padma
Sri narasimha paripalaya mam ca bhaktam

You are the protector lion who removed the sorrow of Prahlada,
You are the valorous one, who when exuberant tear apart everything,
And You are one whose feet is surrounded by Indra and other devas,
And Oh Narasimha , please look after me who is your devotee.

8.Jnanena kechit avalambya padambhujam they,
Kechit sukarma nikarena pare ca bhaktya
Muktim gatah khalu janah kripaya murare
sri narasimha paripalaya mam ca bhaktam

Your lotus like feet is depended upon by some due to their wisdom,
Others due to good acts done as well their great devotion,
And please take them mercifully , oh killer of Mura to salvation,
And Oh Narasimha , please look after me who is your devotee.

He is one who wishes for Shiva  who  gives stability

And he sings fame of whom I wanted

WE do not poetic capability  to sing  like the twelve Azhvars

WE do not have patience to recite Payiram(prayers)  and Keerthanas(songs)  and salute you

To make you a  partner  we do not have  great  riches

WE do not have anything in hand to pour in your  prayer money chest

And you are  not poor to take  money from me

By giving  me , your   wealth  is not going to reduce

Just by saving would not the saved wealth  get  dull(spoiled)

Oh Great God  , if you decide , would not all the beings become glad.

To fondle you  , even in my dreams, I  am not a Gopi,

When you say “do your duty without attachement,to hear, I am not Arjuna

Daily to repleatedly  chant your name, I am not Narada

To open my chest  and show you  , I am not Hanuman

Thinking a second in my mind and go to attend my job,I am a human being

Oh Madhava, don’t you  have willingness  to remove my sorrow, I am onlya human being

 

போதுமெனச் சொல்லும் வரையில் பொன்பொருள் சேர்க்க வேண்டும்
  போதாது வாழ்வோர்க் குதவி புண்ணியம் சேர்க்க வேண்டும்.
பாதையில்  இடறும் கற்கள்  படிக்கற்கள் ஆக வேண்டும
  பாதையில் தடம் பதித்து பயணத்தை முடிக்க வேண்டும்.
மோதுவது மலையே எனினும் மோதி நான் பார்க்க வேண்டும்
  முயல்கிற செயல்கள் எல்லாம் முடித்து நான் காட்ட வேண்டும்
வேதனை ஏதுமின்றி விண்ணகம் ஏக வேண்டும்

 I should save money and gold till I feel it is sufficient

I should help those  who not have and  go on save  your blessings

The  stones that knock my feet on road should become steps

I should  put my ssteps on the road  and my  journey

Though I am knocking on a mountain, I should knock  and see

I should complete  all the jobs that  I try and show

Without any  pain , I should  go to heaven

I should not enter some enter  some other womb and go.
