(Prayer to Lord Vishnu    to destroy all sins)

(In agni puranna , Agni  (fire) gives   several advices to  sage Vasishta. In that Mahathma  Pushkar says that “Men commit several   sins like theft  , murder , rape etc etc By this their mind becomes dirty.When at a time  they realize  and repent  for these , they   want to get  rid  of  threes sins.At  that  time  by  chanting   this prayer  to Lord  Vishnu   with faith , they   get rid  of all  their sins  and  that  is why  this prayer  is called  “prayer to destroy  all sins  committed”

Pushkarovacha

Pushkara   said

विष्णवे विष्णवे नित्यं विष्णवे विष्णवे नमः ।
नमामि विष्णुं चित स्थमहंकारगतिं हरिम् ॥
चित्तस्थमीशमव्यक्तमनन्तमपराजितम् ।
विष्णुमीडयमशेषेण अनादिनिधनं विभुम् ।।

विष्णुश्चित्तगतो यन्मे विष्णुर्बुद्धिगतश्च यत् ।
यच्चाहंकारगो विष्णुर्यव्दिष्णुमॅयि संस्थितः ॥

Vishnave, vishnave   nithyam   vishnave  vishnave  nama

Namami  Vishnum   chithastham  ahankara  gathim  harim,

Chithasthameesam  avyaktha  anantha maparajitham

Vishnu meedyam   aseshena  anadhi  nidhanam   vibhum

Vishnu   chitha gatho yanme   vishnor budhi   gathascha  yath.

Yacchangarako   Vishnur yad Vishnu mayi samsthitha

Oh Lord  Vishnu  , Oh lord  Vishnu , daily  salutations   to  lord Vishnu  , Oh Vishnu

I salute  Vishnu, who is  in the mind  as Lord  Hari   who is  devoid  of any pride ,

I  salute   the  God who is in my mind   as   not clear, without any end,

Who cannot  be defeated,  who is the praisewoerthy Vishnu,

Who is the lead    who does  not have any beginning  or end.

Vishnu  lives in my mind    and also shines  in my intelligence,

And that  Vishnu  who is like that , pervades in me everywhere.

करोति कर्मभूतोऽसौ स्थावरस्य चरस्य च ।
तत् पापं नाशमायातु तस्मिन्नेव हि चिन्तिते ॥
ध्यातो हरति यत् पापं स्वप्ने दृष्टस्तु भावनात् ।
तमुपेन्द्रमहं विष्णुं प्राणतातिॅहरं हरिम् ॥

Karothi  karma bhootho asou  sthavarasya charasya  cha,

THath paapam   naasamaayathi thasminneva hi chinthathe

Dhyatho    harathi yath paapam swapne   drushtasthu bhavanaath

THam upendramaham vishnum pranatharthi haram harim

He  lives  as thar which activates, movable and immovable  things,

And  by just just thinking about him,   all their sins would be destroyed

And those meditate on him , would be able to see  their sins get destroyed in dream,

And I salute  that Vishnu , the brother of Indra and Hari who destroys   sufferings of those   who pray him.

जगत्यस्मिन्निराधारे मज्जमाने तमस्यधः ।
हस्तावलम्बनं विष्णुं प्रणमामि परात्परम् ॥
सर्वेश्वरेश्वर विभो परमात्मन्नधोक्षज ।
हृषीकेश हृषीकेश हृषीकेश नमोऽस्तु ते ॥

Jagathyasmin niraadhaaro majjamaane thamasyadha,

Hasthavalambanam Vishnum  pranamaami  parathparam,

Sarveswareswara vibho paramathan   adhokshaja,

Hrishikesa  , Hrishikesa , Hrishikesa  namoathuthe

In this world  , having no support in this life  of ignorance ,

I Salute  Lord Vishnu   who gives me   hands  of support ,

Oh Lord who is God of all, Oh divine God  with lotus like eyes,

Oh Hrishikesa, Oh Hrishikesa , Oh Hrishikesa  , I salute you

नृसिंहानन्त गोविंद भूतभावन केशव ।
दुरुक्तं दुष्कृतं ध्यातं शमयाधं नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
यन्मया चिन्तितं दुष्टं स्वचित्तवशवर्तिना ।
अकार्यँ महदत्युग्रं तच्छ्मं नय केशव ॥

Nrusimha  Anantha  Govinda , bhoothabhavana, kesava,

Duruktham, Dushkrutham  , Dhyaatham Shamayaadham  Namosthu the,

Yanmayaa   chinthitham  dushtam  swachitha vasa varthinaa ,

Akaryamahadh athygram   thachchamam   naya  kesava

Oh Nrusimha  who is endless , Oh Govinda, Oh Kesava who creates  all beings,

The bad words  , evil acts  or sinful thought may  please be pardoned, my salutations,

Without  my mind not being  under my control, I made evil thoughts,

And  did evil acts  , please  calm them down  , Oh Kesava

ब्रह्मण्यदेव गोविंद परमार्थपरायण ।
जगन्नाथ जगध्दतः पापं प्रश्मयाच्युत ॥
यथापरह्मे सायाह्मे मध्याह्मे च तथा निशि ।
कायेन मनसा वाचा कृतं पापमजानता ॥

Brahmanya   deva , paramartha parayana ,

Jagannadha  jagadh datha   paapam  prasamachyutha

Yadha  paraahyo  madhyahno   cha  thadha  nisi,

Kayena  manasa   vacha   krutham  paapamajaanatha

Oh god  of quality of Brahmins  who follows    what is true ,

Oh Lord of the universe, Oh God who nurtures the  universe, Oh Achuyutha , please remove my sins,

The sins done by me   during  morning, noon and night,

By my body, mind  and words are   done   without my realizing it

जानता च हृषीकेश पुण्डरीकाक्ष माधव ।
नामत्रयोच्चारणतः पापं यातु मम क्षयम् ॥
शरीरं में हृषीकेश पुण्डरीकाक्ष माधव ।
पापं प्रशमयाध त्वं वाक्कृतं मम माधव ॥

Jaanathaa  cha  Hrishikesa, pundarikaksha  Madhavam

Nama  thryoccharanatha  paapam     yaathu  mama  kshayam,

Sareeram   may hrishikesa   Pundarikaksha  Madhava  ,

Paapam prasamaayaadha thwam   vaakrutham  mama  madhava

If I knowingly chant   your three names viz  Hrishikesa ,

Pundarikaksha(lotus eyed)   and Madhava , let all my sins melt away,

Oh  Hrishikesa ,oh lotus eyed one  , Oh Madhava  ,

Let   the sins committed  by me  by body and word  be destroyed

यद् भुंजन यत् स्वपंस्तिष्ठन् गच्छन् जाग्रद यदास्थितः ।
कृतवान् पापमधाहं कायेन मनसा गिरा ॥
यत् स्वल्पमपि यत् स्थूलं कुयोनिनरकावहम् ।
तद् यातु प्रशमं सर्वं वासुदेवानुकीर्तनात् ॥

Yadh  bunjan   yath swadishtan  gachan  jaagrada  yadhasthitha,

Kruthavaan   paapamadhaaham   kaayena  manasaa   giraa,

Yath    swalpamapi  yath sthoolam   kuryoni narakavaham

Thad  yaathu   prasamam   sarvam   vaasudevaanu keerthanath

Let all  the sins committed  by me while eating, sleeping, standing  ,

Walking   or being in state of being awake  by my body or mind,

Which are  capable of taking me to  hell in a small  or huge way,

Would all  be completely   destroyed by singing name of Vasudeva

परं ब्रहम परं धाम पवित्रं परमं च यत् ।
तस्मिन् प्रकीर्तिते विष्णौ यत् पापं तत् प्रणश्यतु ॥
यत् प्राप्य न निवतॅन्ते गन्धस्पशाॅदिवजिॅतम् ।
सूरयस्तत् पदं विष्णोस्तत् सर्वं शमयत्वधम् ॥
( अग्नि पुराण : १७२.)

Param Brahma  Param dhama pavithram paramam cha  yath,

THasmin   prakeerthathi  Vishno yath    paapam    thath pranasyathu

Yath  praapya cha  nivarthanthe  gandha  sparsaandhi varjitham,

Soorayasthath   padham    vishno sthath    sarva   samayathvadham

He   who sings about  Vishnu  m, who is the divine Brahman ,

The divine place of stay   and  divinely pure, his sins  would get destroyed,

People who reach  that place  , never ever   to return  are  devoid,

 Of  senses like touch and smell, and let that position remove  all my sins

माहात्म्यं :-
पापप्रणाशनं स्त्रोत्रं यः पठेच्छृणुयादपि ।
शारीरैमॉनसैवॉग्जैः कृतैः पापैः प्रमुच्यते ॥
सर्वपापग्रहादिभ्यो याति विष्णोः परं पदम् ।
तस्मात् पापे कृते जप्यं स्त्रोत्रं सवॉधमदॅनम्॥

Magathmyam

Papa  pranaasanam stotram    ya padeth srunyaadh api,

Sareerai  manase  vaakjnai   kruthe paape  pramuchyathe

SArva  papa  grahaadhibhyo yaathi vishno param padham,

Thasmath   paape kuthe   japyam stotram  samvada  mardhanam

Greatness

He who reads or hears  this prayer  of “Papa pranasanam(destruction of sins)”

Would get rid of all the sins   done by body, mind   as well as words,

He would get rid of all  problems caused   by evil  planets and reach Lord Vishnu

And so if you realize that  you have done a sin, chant this prayer  which destroys sins
