வேலுண்டு வினையில்லை மயிலுண்டு பயமில்லை

குகனுண்டு குறையில்லை மனமே

Velundu  , vinayillai  , mayilundu  , bhayamillai,

Guhanundu   kurai illai  maname

Kandhanundu   kavayillai  maname  (Velundu

 

There is vel, there is no bad fate, there is peacock, there  is no fear

There is guha, there   are no problems

There is skanda, there   are no worries, oh mind (there is Vel)

 

நீலகண்டன் நெற்றிக் கண்ணில்

நெருப்பு வடிவாகத் தோன்றி

நிருதர் குலத்தை அழித்த நிர்மலன் ... முருகன் ...... (வேலுண்டு)

 

Neela kandan   nethri  kannil

Neruppu   vadivamaaka    thondri

Niruthar  kulathai   azhitha   nirmalan  murugan (velundu..)

 

In the forehead   eye of lord Shiva with a blue neck

Appearing   in the form of fire

You, the pure  one, the muruga   destroyed clan of asuras  (there is vel)

நெறியாக உனை நினைந்து

பற்றினேன் உள்ளமதில் உன்னடி ... முருகா ......

ஓயாது ஒழியாது

உன் நாமம் சொல்பவர்க்கு

உன்னடி கரையடைய அருளுவாய் .. முருகா

Oayaathu  ,oazhiyaathu

Un namam   cholbavarkku

Unnadai karai adaya arulvai, muruka

Unnadi  karayadaya   arulvai (velundu)

 

Wearing sacred   ash on my  forehead,

With purity  , thinking about you

I held your feet in my mind-Oh murugaa

Without rest , without break,

Those who can chant  your name

You would make them reach the other   shore of your feet, Oh muruga

You would make your feet  get a stain , oh muruga(there is vel)

 

உலகமென்னும் கடல் தனிலே

உடல் என்னும் ஓடமது

உன்னடிக் கரை அடைய அருளுவாய் ... முருகா ......
