Sri  Gurubhyo nama

Salutatons to guru

 Gannaanaam Tvaa Ganna-Patim Havaamahe
Kavim Kaviinaam-Upama-Shravastamam |
Jyessttha-Raajam Brahmannaam Brahmannaspata
Aa Nah Shrnnvan-Uutibhih Siida Saadanam ||

Meaning:
(This Mantra of Rig Veda 2.23.1 is addressed to Brihaspati / Brahmanaspati)
1: Among the Ganas (Group of Prayers), to You Who are the Ganapati (Lord of Prayers), we Offer our Sacrificial Oblations,
2: You are the Wisdom of the Wise and Uppermost in Glory,
3: You are the foremost King of the Prayers, presiding as the Lord of the Prayers (Brahmanaspati),
4: Please come to us by Listening to our Invocation and be Present in the Seat of this Sacred Sacrificial Altar (to charge our Prayers with Your Power and Wisdom).

 

Ajnana  thimirandhasya jana  ajnana  salaakayaa

Chakshoor  unmeelanam deva thasmai sri gurave nama

 

Salutations to guru  who  with his  wand  cured

My blindness  due  to ignorance, by opening my eyes

 

Sri Guru Charna  vindhabhyam nama

I salute  the lotus  like  feet  of the guru

 

Ya kundendu thushara hara davalaa, 
Ya shubhra vasthravruthaa, 
Yaa veena vara danda manditha karaa, 
Ya swetha padmasana, 
Ya brahmachyutha Sankara prabruthibhir , 
Devai sadaa poojithaa, 
Saa maam pathu sarswathi, bhagawthi, 
Nissesha jadyapaha. 

She is the one who wears the garland dazzling white jasmine flower, 
She is the one who always decorates with very clean cloths, 
She is the one who has in her hand aVeena which she plays, 
She is one who sits in the throne of white lotus, 
She is one who is worshipped by Gods such as ,Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, 
And let that Goddess Saraswathi who removes ignorance , look after me.

Asthaam thaavadheeyam prasoothi samaye durvaara soola vyadhaa

Nairuchathoru soshanam Malamayee  sayya cha  samvathsari

Ekasyaapi na  garbha bhara  bharanaath klesasyaa kshamo

Dhathur nishkruthi unnathopi THanaya  jananyai nama

 

Oh mother mine,
With clenched teeth bore you the excruciating pain,
When I was born to you,
Shared you  the bed made dirty by me for an year,
And thine body became thin and painfull,
During those nine months that you bore me,
For all these in return, I can never compensate, Oh mother dearest,
Even by my becoming great.

I salute  on lotus  like  feet of my mother

 

Akhlianna  aparadhaan may  kshamaswa  karunanidhe

Praseedha asmaadh Guro deva Janakaaya namo nama

 

Oh Treasure of mercy  please pardon all mistakes  committed by me

Oh Guru deva Be pleased with me , Oh Father salutations and salutations
