Matha marakatha shyama, Mathangi madha
shalini,
Kuryath kadaksham kalyani kadambha vana vasini.
Please bless me with a side long glance,
Oh daughter of sage Mathanga, Who is my mother, Who is as green as an emerald,
Who is exuberant, Who blesses with all that is good, And who lives in the forest
of Kadambha.
Neehara Hara GHanasara sudha karabham
Kalyanatham kanaka champaka dhama bhooshaam
Uthunga peena kucha kumbha manoharaangim
Vaaneem namami
mansaa Vachasaa Vibhuthyai
She with garland of mists, who has firm nectar like hands
Who is interested in our welfare, who wears glorious golden champaka flowers
Who has pretty limbs like stout raised pot like breasts
I salute Goddess Saraswathi mentally , by words and spiritually
Sangeetha yogineem, shyamaam shyamalaam
Mandhara nayikam, manthrim shivesanim
Pradhaneseem sucha priyam, veenaa vathim, vainikhyam
Mudhrinim priyakapriyam neebhapriyaam kadambesim
Kadhambha vana vasinim sadhamathaam –Hari om
She who is a musical yogi , who is black , who is auspicious
The chief leader , the minister she who sits peacefully
She who is important, she who likes cleanliness , she who holds veenaa, she who plays veena
She who is authorized to certify, she likes dear things, She who likes essays , goddessof literary collections
She who lives in forest of Kadamba, she who is always proud-hari om
