(Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra (ललिता महालक्ष्मी स्तोत्र): . Lalita Mahalakshmi is a highly revered Sanskrit Stotra which addressed the 300 Divine Names of Goddess Lalita or Goddess Parvati Devi. Similar to Lalita Sahastranaam, the Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra features as a conversation between Sage Agastya and Lord Hayagriva (the avatar of Lord Vishnu with Horse Head).

Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra is considered as the most secret of the Stotra and describes the three hundred names of Goddess Lalita. The unique composition of the Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra is that each twenty names of Lalita Mahalakshmi start from each of the 15 letters which forms the Pancha Dasakshari Mantra.

Mahalakshmi is the supreme Deity who is also known as Tripura Sundari or Sri Vidya or Lalithambika or Lalita. Mahalakshmi is the confluence of Lakshmi (satvic), Saraswati (rajasik) and Kali (tamasik) powers. Here, the term “Maha” is not an adjective used for the noun “Lakshmi”. While Lord Vishnu’s consort is Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Vishnu Himself is a Sri Vidya Upasaka, i.e., He worships Mahalakshmi. This is exemplified through Lord Hayagreeva’s chanting of Lalita Sahastranaam Sthothram to Sage Agasthya.

In its true essence, Mahalakshmi is the Cosmic Power called Shakti which maintains the Vibrancy (Vishnu) as well as make one realize his/her true identity (Siva). Mahalakshmi is the supreme Saktheya Deity Who embodies the real knowledge (wisdom) towards Self Realization. Her two lower hands signify Abhayam (protection or shielding from misguidance) and Varadam (blessings to receive true guidance). Her two upper hands carry the sacred lotus flower signifying nothing other than the invisible lotus, called the “Sahasrara Dala Padmam” (thousand petaled lotus), in our astral body, which is positioned beyond the six chakras.

According to mythological belief, on this day, the mother Lalita appeared to kill a demon named ‘Bhanda’ which was born from Kamdev’s body. Devotee temples seem to be on this day. This fast is to provide all the pleasures, so on this day the worship of Lord Lalita is of particular importance. On this day, the text of Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra is done exclusively.

जगन्माता जीवदात्री नारायणी परमेश्वरी ||

Mother  of the world, Giver  of life, Wife  of Narayana , Wife  of lord  Parameshwari

व्यूहतेजो मयी ब्रह्मानन्दिनी हरी सुन्दरी | 

पाशांकुशेक्षु कोदण्ड पद्ममाला लसत्करा || 

 

Vyooha thejo mayee, Brahma  Nandini , Hari Sundari

Pasakuseshu Kodanda Padhma mala lasadkara

 

She who has  shining  formation   roundher , the daughter  of Brahma, The beauty  who is green

Having rope  , goad , kodanda  bow, lotus necklace and  who makes    things   shining

दृष्ट्वा तां मुमुहुर्देवाः प्रणेमुर्विगतज्वराः | 

तुष्टुवुः श्रीमहालक्ष्मीं ललितां वैष्णवीं पराम् || 

 

Drushtwaa  thaam  mumuhur  devaa prane murvi gatha jwaraa

Thushtuvu Sri  Mahalakshmi Lalithaa  Vaishnaveem  paraam

1.जयलक्ष्मी जगन्मातः जय लक्ष्मि परात्परेः | 

जय कल्याण निलये जय सर्व कलात्मिके ||

 

Jayalakshmi  , jaganmatha, jaya Lakshmi  parath pare

Jaya kallyana  nilaye, jaya sarva  kalathmike

 

Oh Jayalakshmi , mother  of the world, The jayalakshmi   who is  most divine\

Hail  to her  who looks after  welfare , Hail  the   soul of  all arts 

 

2.जय ब्राह्मि महालक्ष्मि ब्रह्मात्मिके परात्मिके | 

जय नारायणि शान्ते जय श्रीललिते रमे || 

 

Jaya  Brahmi  Mahalakshmi  Brahmathmike Parathmike

Jaya  NarayaniSanthe  Jaya sri Lalithe   Reme

 

Hail Brahmi , mahalakshmi, the soul of Brahmaa, The  soul  of divine

Hail  Narayani , The peaceful one  Hail  Lalitha  ,  Lakshmi

 

3.जय श्रीविजये देवीश्वरि श्रीदे जयद्धिर्दे | 

नमः सहस्त्र शीर्षायै सहस्रानन लोचने || 

 

Jaya Sri vijaye devi easwari Sridhe jayadhirdhe

Nama  sahasra Seershaye, SAharanana  lochane

 

Hail  Goddess  of wealth .Goddess  of victory, Goddess  who grants  wealth, Hail  she who grants  long life

Salutations to one with thousand heads, She who has   thousand faces  and  eyes

4.नमः सहस्त्र हस्ताब्ज पादपङ्कज शोभिते | 

अणोरणुतरे लक्ष्मि महतोऽपि महीयसि || 

 

Nama sahasra hasthabhja padha  pankaja shobhithe

Anor anu thare  Lakshmi Mahathopi   Maheeyasi

 

Salutations  to her with thousand  lotus like hands and she whose   feet  shines  like lotus

She  who is like  atom  with in atom , she who makes  great  people   greater

 

5.अतलं ते स्मृतौ पादौ वितलं जानुनी तव | 

रसातलं कटिस्ते च कुक्षिस्ते पृथवि मता || 

 

Athalam   they smrithou padhou , vithalam  januni  thava

Rasathalam  katisthe  cha  kukshisthe   Prithwi  mathaa

 

When  think of your  feet we go down to the bottom

When we  think of your thighs we reach   the  world below

When we think of your waist    we   reach   the lower  world

And when we think of your belly    we reach    the  earth

 

6.हृदयँ भुवः स्वस्तेऽस्तु मुखं सत्यं शिरो मतम् |

दृशश्चन्द्रार्क दहना दिशः कर्णा भुजः सुराः || 

Hrudhayam  Bhuva swasthosthu Mukham  SAthyam , Siro  Matham
Druschandrarka  dahanaa  ,  dhisa  karnaa , bhuja suraa

 

Your heart is the healthy air, face  truth , head  opinion

Eyes moon and sun and fire, the direction your ears, and hands  the devas

 

7.मरुतस्तु तवोच्छ्वासा वाचस्ते श्रुतयो मताः | 

क्रीड़ा ते लोक रचना सखा ते परमेश्वरः || 

 

Maruthasthu  thavoschswasa , vaachasthe  sruthayo   mathaa

Kreeda  they  loka   rachanaa,  Sakhaa  they  parameshwara

 

The wind is  your breath, the  voice the opinion we hear

Your play  creation of world , friend   Lord Parameshwara

8.आहारस्ते सदानन्दो वासस्ते हृदयो हरेः | 

दृश्यादृश्य स्वरूपाणि रूपाणि भुवनानि ते || 

 

AAharasthe  sadhanandho, vaasasthe hrudayo  Hare
Drusyadrusya  swaroopani roopaani bhuvanani  they

 

Always   being   happy is your food, you live  in Vishnu’s heart

The  visible  and not visible forms    are  your forms on this earth

 

9.शिरोरुहा घनास्ते वै तारकाः कुसुमानि ते | 

धर्माद्या बाहवस्ते च कालाद्या हेतयस्तव || 

 

Siroruhaa  ghanasthe  vai   tharakaa  kusumani    they

Dharmaadhyaa   bahavasthe  cha kaalaadhyaa  hethaya sthava

 

Your  hair  on head  is dense   and being decorated  by stars  and flowers

Your hands   are Dharma   and   the time is only   your cause

10.यमाश्च नियमाश्चापि कर पाद नखास्तव | 

स्तनौ स्वाहा स्वधाकारौ सर्व जीवन दुग्धदौ || 

 

Yamascha niyamaschapi  kara  padha   nakhasthava

Sthanou swahaa  swadhakarai sarva  jeevana dughdhou

 

The do s and don’t s  of life  are your hand  , leg  and nails

Your  breasts  are  foods for fire andpithrus  and are  your breast milk

 

11.प्राणायामस्तव श्वासो रसना ते सरस्वती | 

महि रुहास्ते अङ्गरुहाः प्रभातं वसनं तव || 

pranayama  sthava  swaso  rasanaa they saraswathi

Mahi  ruhaasthe ankharuhaa Prabhatham  vasanam thava

 

The   breathing exercise  as your breath  , and my palatability  is you Saraswathy,

The  earth is mounted  on your body and mornings are  your home

 

12.आदौ दया धर्म पत्नी ससर्ज निखिलाः प्रजाः | 

हृत्स्था त्वं व्यापिनी लक्ष्मीः मोहिनी त्वं तथा परा || 

 

Aadhou  Dhayaa  dharma pathni  sasrja  nikhilaa  prajaa

Hruthsthaa thwam vyapini Lakshmi  , Mohini   thwam  thadhaa  paraa

Initially  all  you made your  people were nercy   , dharma and  wife 
Carrying all   you   spread as  Lakshmi   and mohini and you spread  as divine

 

13.इदानीं दृश्यसे ब्राह्मी नारायणी प्रियङ्करि | 

नमस्तस्मै महालक्ष्म्यै गजमुख्यै नमो नमः || 

 

Idhaneem  drusyathe  Brahmi  , Narayani  , priyankari

Namasthasmai Mahalakshmyai Gaja mukhyai  Namo nama

 

Now   you are visible as  the likable    Brahmi  and Narayani

Salutations   to you Mahalkshmi  , salutation the elephant faced one

 

14.सर्वशक्त्यै सर्वधात्र्यै महालक्ष्म्यै नमो नमः | 

या ससर्ज विराजं च ततोऽजं विष्णुमीश्वरम् ||

 

Sarva  sakthyai  , sarva  dhathryai maha  lakshmyai  namo  nama

Yaa  sasarja  virajam   cha   thatho  ajam  Vishnumeeswaram

 

Salutations    to Mahalakshi  who is all power  and mother of all 

Or  your  creations  are shining  and  also   Vishnu  the God

15.रुदं तथा सुराग्र्यांश्च तस्यै लक्ष्म्यै नमो नमः | 

त्रिगुणायै निर्गुणायै हरिण्यै ते नमो नमः || 

 

Rudhram  thadhaa   suraagryam cha  Thasyai  Lakshmyai namo nama

Trigunaayai nirgunayai Harinyai  they  namo nama

 

Rudra and foremost  devas salute   Maha Lakshmi

Salutations  to  her belonging to Hari who has three  type of characters   and no character

 

16.यन्त्र तंत्रात्मिकायै ते जगन्मात्रे नमो नमः | 

वाग्विभूत्यै गुरु तन्व्यै महालक्ष्म्यै नमो नमः || 

Yanthra  ththraathmikaayai They   Jagan mathre   namo nama

Vaag  vibhoothyai guru thanvyai Maha Lakshmi  namo nama

 

You are  the soul  of all  Yanthra  and Thanthra and mother of the  world . Salutations

You have super human voice and delicate teacher  , salutations to Maha  Lakshmi

 

17.कम्भरायै सर्व विद्याभरायै ते नमो नमः | 

जया ललिता पाञ्चाली रमा तन्वै नमो नमः || 

 

Kambharaayai   sarva  vidhya bharayai  they  namo  nama

Jayaa  Lalithaa  Panchali   , rema thanvyai  namo nama

You are  of different colours  , filled  with all knowledge, Salutations to you

You  are victor , lalitha  , paanchaali  , pretty  and slender  , salutations

 

18.पद्मावती रमा हंसी सु गुणाऽज्ञाश्रियै नमः | 

नमः स्तुता प्रसंनैवंछन्दयामास सद्वरैः || 

Padhmavathi   , Rema  Hansi  sygunaa  aajna  sriyai  namo  nama

Nama   sthuthaa pramnaivam  chandhayaamaasa sadvarai

You are  padmavathi , pretty one  , slender one, one with all  good charaters and one who gives divine orders, salutations

Salutations   to one who is prayed , praised, one  with great  shape  and  very faithful

 

|| फलश्रुतिः || 

Phala sruthi

 

1.स्तावका में भविष्यन्ति श्री यशो धर्म संभृताः | 

विद्या विनय सम्पन्ना निरोगा दीर्घ जीविनः || 

Sthavakaa mein  bhavishyanthi  sri  yaso  dharma   sambhruthaa

Vidhyaa  vinaya   sampanna nirogaa  deerga  jeevana

 

He who chants would become  wealthy, famous and filled with Dharma

He would be filled with knowledge  and humility, would never be sick  and  live long

 

2.पुत्र मित्र कलत्राढ़या भविष्यन्ति सुसम्पदः | 

पठनाच्छ्रावणादस्य शत्रु भीतिर्विनश्यति || 

 

Puthra  mithra  kalathraadyaa   bavishyanthi susampadha,

Patanaa sravanaa asya    sathru  bheethir  vinasyathi

He would have wife  , sons, friends  and become  holder of great  wealth
The enemies  of he who reads  and hears would get  destroyed   due to fear

 

3राजभीतिः कदनानि विनश्यन्ति न संशयः | 

भुक्तिं मुक्तिं भाग्यामृद्धिममुत्तमां च लभेन्नरः || 

 

Raja  bheethi kadhanaani  vinasyanthi  na  samsaya

Bukthim  mukthim   bhagyaamrudhir uthamam   cha  labhen nara

 

Without doubt fear  of  destruction from king   will get destroyed

That  man  will get enjoyment in earth  , salvation , and very great  fortune
