Mridani prabhum , sankaram, deva devam

Karam kooppi  nilke , varam nalkum eesan

Prabhaa  pooritham  viswanadham trilokam

Vanangum puraaree, , praseedha , praseedha

 

Hey lord of Parvathi, Hey Sankara, Hey  god of gods

Oh good   who hrants boons  to those  who stand and salute

Oh lord full of luster, Oh lord  of  universe  ,

Of destroyer  of Tripura   saluted  by three  worlds, Get  pleased, Get pleased

Niraakaraa, nirmoolaa thejas swaroopam

THozhunna ardha  naaree  swaroopam, natesam

Maha linga  roopam, bajhe mangalartham

Prabho  paahi  Kailasa  nadham  namami

 

Oh  universal spirit, Oh lord who uproots all, Oh god with  lustrous form

Oh  king of dances, Oh man-woman form which is saluted

Oh God with form of great linga.i Sing for prosperity  and happiness,

Oh Lord  protect us, Oh Lord  of Kailasa  , I salute you

 

ജടാമൗലിതന്നിൽ മനോഹാരി ഗങ്ഗാ,

സശോഭം വിരാജിച്ചിടുന്നാൻ ശശാങ്കൻ!

കരത്തിൽ തൃശൂലം, തുടിപ്പാനുടുക്കും

ഗളത്തിൽ ഫണീന്ദ്രൻ നമോ രുണ്ഡഹാരം! 3

 

Jadaa mauli thannil Manohari  Gangaa

Sashobham   virajichidunnan sasaangan

Karathil trisoolam ,thudippan  udukkum

Galathil phaneendran  , namo  runda haram

 

The  pretty  Ganga  on the crown on his tuft

, The moon  with great luster   also shines there

The  trident  in his hand, to play  the hand drum

On his neck  king of serpents, salutations to the garland of headless body

 

വിഭൂതിപ്രസാദം ധരിക്കുന്ന ഫാലം,

പവിത്രം ത്രിണേത്രം നമോ നീലകണ്ഠം!

പുലിത്തോൽധരിക്കും , മഹായോഗി ശംഭും,

ജടാചൂടരുദ്രാക്ഷധാരിം നമാമി! 4

 

Vibhuthi  prasadham  darikkunna  phalam

Pavithram trinethram Namo Neela kandam

Puli  tholdarikkum , Maha yogi  SAmbhum

Jadaachooda Rudraksha  dharim namami

 

The  forehead where the offering of sacred  ash is worn

The very holy  three eyes, I salute   the one  with blue neck

The great Yogi Shambhu  wears  the tiger’s  hide

I salute him with great  tuft and with  rudraksha garland

Maha Nandi  vaaham , bhaje  bhootha  nadham

Sadhaa  pahi maam, kai thozhunen  kripalo

Prachanda  swaroopam , maha  kala moorthim

Shivoham, CHidanandam eesam namami

 

He is carried by  great  Nandi, I sing about  the lord of  BHoothas

Please always  protect me, Oh kind one , I always  salute you

The greatone with form of Maha  Kala has  a passionate  form

I am Shiva, I salute  the God who  is divinely  happy

Vilangunna  chithil  sthithan  Viswanadhan

Maha suktha omkara  nadha prabhavam

Shiva proktha saaktheya  manthram bhajami

 

The peaceful one, the great  manthra  of five letter name

The Viswantha who is there in the shining mind

The power of the great sound  OM

And I will sing the  manthra  told by lord Shiva

SWayambu  roopam chiram  Sakthi nadham

Nama  Parvathi vallabham Dhivya   thejam

Mahesan   vilangum prapancham  pradheeptham

Prachanda   swaroopam  shivoham namami

 

He has a  form not born, For a long time  lord  of Goddess  SAkthi

Salutation  to husband of Parvathi who has   a divine  luster

The universe  where the  great God is there  is ever shining

I salute his tumultuous form, I am Shiva

 

അഹം ബ്രഹ്മസത്യം നിറഞ്ഞുള്ള ചിത്തം

Athyanthamaylla aapathu asuraral,

Nithyam muzhuthu kazhivillanju ,

Shakthanayi vannu pirannu Dasaradha-,

Puthranaam Sri Ramanarayana.                                                    1

 

Due to the great dangers created by Asuras,

Grew  daily and since there was no other go,

You were born as the very strong son.

To Lord Dasaratha,  Oh Ramanarayana.   

 

Anandathodu angu anujanmarum thanum,

Vanor puriyil vasikkum kaalam,

Dheenathayodu  oru mamuni than chollal,

Poyu oru Sri Ramanarayana.                                                         2

 

When with happiness and joy, you and your brothers,

Were living in the great town,

Due to the pathetic words of a great sage,

You left there, Oh Ramanarayana.                  

 

Ishtathil mamuni than chollal pogumbol,

Dushtayam thadaye hanichu ,

Mutti kidannoru  yagathe rakshicha,

Sishtanaam Sri Ramanarayana.                                                      3

 

When you were going happily as per the words of great sage,

You killed Thadaga who was extremely bad,

And saved a Yaga which was blocked,

Oh Very disciplined Lord Ramanarayana.

 

Eedatha kallaam Ahalyukku mokshavum ,

Thane koduthu , mithila pukku,

Kedatha villu murichu, kalyanavum ,

Goshicha Sri Ramanarayana.                                                        4

 

Salvation to Ahalya , the incomparable stone,

You gave  and went to Mithila,

Broke the bow which was sturdy and celebrated,

Your marriage , Oh Lord Sri Ramanarayana.

 

Ulkanivodangu Ayodhyakku pogumbol,

Thakkalethi parasu Raman ,

Trukkayil thannoru villum sarangalum,

Kai konda Sri Ramanarayana.                                                        5

 

 

When you were returning to Ayodhya with happiness,

At that opportune time reached , Lord Parasurama,

And you took in to your hands the bow,

And arrows given by him, Oh Lord Ramanarayana.

 

OOzhiye palichu kolvan  abhishekam,

Parathe cheyvan thudangumappol,

Mathru vachanathe kettu, vanathinnu ,

Poyoru , Sri Ramanarayana.                                                               6

 

When you were about to be crowned,

So that you can look after the earth,

Obeying the words of your mother,

You went to forest, Oh Lord Ramanarayana.

 

Yen moolam yen makkal poyee vanathinnu,

Yennu ninach maricha achande,

Karmangalellam vanathingal cheythoru,

Nirmalan, Sri Ramanarayana.                                                            7

 

When your  father died thinking that,

His sons went to forest because of him

You performed the death rituals in forest,

Oh pure one, Oh Lord Ramanarayana.                                           

 

Yelpan avakasamundakki Lakshmanan,

Soorpanaka mula chedichappol,

Thalparyahodu  vanna Kharadhiye ,

Tholpicha , Sri Ramanarayana.                                                        8

 

When Lakshmana arranged well,

And cut off the breasts of Surpanaka,

You defeated Khara and other Rakshasas,

Who came interested, Oh Lord Ramanarayana.

 

Irando ranana kkalam Seethaye,

Poyyayi kavarnnoru asura veeran

Payyave pogumbol , sugreeva skhyavum,

Cheythoru , Sri Ramanarayana.                                                         9

 

During the time when the ten headed one ,

Abducted Sita telling a lie,

And when you were going , you signed,

A treaty with Sugreeva, Oh Lord Ramanarayana.

 

Othavannam thane Baaliyeyum konnu,

Puthanayitu chira kadannu,

Pathu thalayoneyum padayum konor,

Uthaman, Sri Ramanarayana.                                                           10

 

You then killed Bali  in the only way possible,

Built  a new bridge  and crossed,

And killed the ten headed one,

And his army, Oh Lord Ramanarayana.

 

Oro nisachara veeranmare konnu,

Paridathingal shubham varuthi,

Nere malar mathe veendingayodhyakku,

Ponnoru, Sri Ramanarayana.                                                            11

 

After killing several asuras in different places,

You brought good to the world,

And again brought Sita back,

To Ayodhya, Oh Lord Ramanarayana.

 

Au vana vasam kazhinju puri pukku,

Youvanathode abhishekamathu,

DAivatha mullil ullorkale Rakshichu,

Ner vazhi , Sri Ramanarayana.                                                          12

 

After the stay in forest, you came back,

To the town and was crowned in your youth  as a king,

And took care of all those who were straight,

And god in their mind, Oh Lord Ramanarayana

 

Akkalamappathinirayirathandu,

Chol konda Sri raman Vanirunnu,

Ikkadha padumbol , pal kadal varnande,

Thrukkzal cheruvor , Narayana.                                                       13

 

During that time that famous Lord Rama,

Lived for ten thousand years ,

And when I sing the story now,

I would merge with the flute ,

Of the one with colour of ocean of milk, Narayana.

 

Narayana, mathsya koorma Varahamaam,

Narasimhakruthe Rama Rama,

Sri Krishna Rama  Bala bhadra Krushnanaam,

Narayana Gadgi Rama hare.                                                               14

 

Oh Narayana who took the form of Fish,

Tortoise, Boar and the man lion, Parasurama,

Rama, Krishna Bala Rama and then Gadgi,

Oh Rama, Rama, Krishna , Hari.

 

Narayana Hare, Narayana Hare ,

Narayana Rama Narayana.

അത്യന്തമായുള്ളോരാപത്തസുരരാല്‍ 

നിത്യം മുഴുത്തു കഴിവില്ലാഞ്ഞു

ശക്തനായ് വന്നു പിറന്ന ദശരഥ

പുത്രനാം ശ്രീരാമ നാരായണ!

ആനന്ദത്തോടങ്ങനുജന്മാരും താനും 

വാനോര്‍ പുരിയില്‍ വളരും കാലം 

ദീനതയോടൊരു മാമുനി തന്‍ ചൊല്ലാല്‍ 

പോയോരു ശ്രീരാമ നാരായണ!

ഇഷ്ടത്തില്‍ മാമുനി തന്‍ ചൊല്ലാല്‍ പോകുമ്പോള്‍ 

ദുഷ്ട സ്ത്രീ താടക തന്നെ കൊന്നു 

മുട്ടിക്കിടന്നൊരു യാഗത്തെ രക്ഷിച്ച 

ചട്ടറ്റ ശ്രീരാമ നാരായണ!

ഈടുറ്റകല്ലാമഹല്യക്കു മോക്ഷവും 

താനേ കൊടുത്തു മിഥിലപുക്കു 

കേടറ്റ വില്ലു മുറിച്ചു കല്യാണവും 

ഘോഷിച്ച ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

ഉള്‍ക്കനിവോടങ്ങയൊദ്ധ്യക്കു പോകുമ്പോള്‍ 

തക്കത്തിലെത്തീ പരശുരാമന്‍ 

തൃക്കൈയില്‍ തന്നൊരു വില്ലും ശരങ്ങളും 

കൈക്കൊണ്ട ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

ഊഴിയെപ്പാലിപ്പാനായഭിഷേകവും 

പാരാതെ ചെയ് വാന്‍ തുടങ്ങും നേരം 

മാതൃ വചനത്തെക്കേട്ട് വനത്തിന്നു 

പോയോരു ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

എന്മൂലമെന്മക്കള്‍ പോയി വനത്തിന്ന്

എന്നു നിനച്ചു മരിച്ചച്ഛന്റെ

കർമ്മങ്ങളെല്ലാം വനത്തില്‍ കഴിച്ചുടൻ 

നിർമ്മലന്‍ ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

ഏൾപ്പാനവകാശമുണ്ടാക്കി ലക്ഷ്മണൻ

ശൂർപ്പണഖാമുലമൂർന്ന ശേഷം 

താല്പരിയത്തോടു വന്ന ഖരാദിയെ

തോല്പ്പിച്ച ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

ഐരണ്ടൊരാനനക്കാലം സീതയെ

ചൊയ്യായ്ക്കവർന്നോരസുരവീരന്‍ 

പയ്യവേ പോകുമ്പോള്‍ സുഗ്രീവ സഖ്യവും 

ചെയ്തോരു ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

ഒത്ത വണ്ണം തന്നെ ബാലിയേയും കൊന്നു

പുത്തനായിട്ടു ചിറ കടന്നു 

പത്തു തലയോനെയും പടയും കൊന്നോരുത്തമന്‍ ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

ഓരോ നിശാചരവീരന്മാരെക്കൊന്നു

പൊരിനു നല്ല ജയം വരുത്തി

നേരേ മലർമാതെ വീണ്ടിങ്ങയോദ്ധ്യയ്ക്കു 

പോന്നോരു ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

ഔവ്വനവാസം കഴിഞ്ഞു പുരിപുക്കു

യൌവ്വനത്തോടഭിഷേകമേറ്റ്

ദൈവതമുള്ളിലുള്ളോർകളെ രക്ഷിച്ചു

നേര്‍വഴി ശ്രീരാമനാരായണ!

അക്കാലമപ്പതിനോരായിരത്താണ്ടു

ചൊൽക്കൊണ്ട ശ്രീരാമന്‍ വാണിരുന്നു

ഇക്കഥ പാടുവോര്‍ പാൽക്കടല്‍ വർണ്ണന്റെ

തൃക്കഴല്‍ ചേരുവോര്‍ നാരായണ!
