അമ്പാടിയതിൽ കാണാമോമനക്കണ്ണനാമൊരു ഉണ്ണിയെ

മണ്ണുവാരിക്കളിയ്ക്കുന്നോരുണ്ണിക്കണ്ണ നാമുണ്ണിക്കുട്ടനെ

 

Ambadi  yathil kaanaam omana kannannaam  Oru  Unniye

Mannu vaari kalikkunnor unni kannanaan  unni kuttane

 

In the  Ambadi you can see   a baby boy who is the  Darling Krishna

The Baby  boy who plays  by taking  lot  of mud

 

പീലിയൊന്നു ചികുരത്തിൽ ചാർത്തി പാലയ്ക്കാമാല മാറിലും

പട്ടുകോണമുടുത്തു ചേലിലായ് അക്കൊച്ചുകൃഷ്ണൻ മേവുന്നു

 

Peeli onnu  chikurathil chaarthi, paalakka  mala  Marilum

Pattu konam uduthu chelillai  aa  kochu  kannan  mevunnu

 

Wearing  a peacock feather in his head, Garland  made  of  yellow sapphire

Wearing a silken loin cloth, that  small Kannan wanders

 

മണ്ണുവാരിക്കളിയ്ക്കല്ലുണ്ണീയെന്നമ്മചൊൽവതു കേൾക്കാതെ

കണ്ണനുണ്ണി തൻ അണ്ണനുമൊപ്പം കൂട്ടരൊത്തും കളിയ്ക്കുന്നു

 

Mannu vaari kalikkathe unni yennamma cholvathu  kelkkathe

Kannanunni than  Annanum oppam Koottarothum  Kalikkunnu

 

Without obeying mother who wanted him not to play carrying mud

The  Baby kanna along  with his  elder brother play  along with their  friends

 

വെണ്ണ കൂട്ടിയുരുളയാക്കീട്ടങ്ങമ്മ കണ്ണനതേകുമ്പോൾ കണ്ണിണയ്ക്കതിയാനന്ദമേകും മട്ടിൽ കണ്ണൻ ചിരിയ്ക്കുന്നു

 

Venna kootti  urulayaakkeettu angu amma Kannan athu   yekumbol

Kanninyakkathi aanandamekum mattil kannan  chirikkunnu

 

After  taking butter  and making in to a ball  When mother  gives it to Kanna

Kanna laughs  making us   smile   without closing our eyelids

 

ഉപ്പിലിട്ടതു തൊട്ടു കൂട്ടാനായുണ്ണിക്കണ്ണൻ ചിണുങ്ങുമ്പോൾ

ഒട്ടെരി യതിനുണ്ടെന്നു ണ്ണിയെന്നമ്മയെശോദ ചൊല്ലുന്നൂ

 

Uppilittathu thottu  koottanaai unni kannan   chinungumbol

Otterivu  athinnu undennu unn yennu  amma Yasodha  Chollunnu

 

To eat  pickles when baby  Kanna wants and cries  ,

Yasodha tells him that it is very punjent

 

കണ്ണു തെറ്റിയെ ശോദയ്ക്കാതക്കം കണ്ണൻ തൊട്ടതു കൂട്ടുന്നൂ

നാവെരിച്ചു പോയുണ്ണിക്കണ്ണനു പിന്നെ വാവിട്ടുതേങ്ങുന്നൂ

 

Kannu  thetti yasodakku  , aa thakkam  Kannan thottathu  koottunnu

Navarichu poi  unni kannannu pinne  Vaa vittu  thengunnu

 

When  Yasoda is not looking that side, Kannan touches  and eats  that

The tough of Baby kanna has   burning sensation   and then he cries

 

ഓടിച്ചെന്നതുനേരം അമ്മയും തേൻ കൊടുത്താധിയാറ്റുന്നൂ

നാവിലേറും മധു മാധുര്യത്താലുണ്ണിക്കണ്ണൻ മയങ്ങുന്നൂ

 

Odi  chennu athu neram  Ammayum  then koduthu  aadhi yaathunnu

Naavilerum madhu maadhuryathaal  unni  kannan

 

At that time  Mother  gave him Honey and cures his pain

With the sweetness  of honey  in his toungue, Kanna sleeps

 

ആടാടുണ്ണിയെന്നോതും നേരത്തു ചിഞ്ചിലം തള താളത്തിൽ ചാരുതമണിഞ്ഞാടിപ്പാടുന്നൂ ചാതുര്യമോടക്കാർവർണ്ണൻ

 

Aadaadu  unni  yennothum  nerathu chinchilam Thala  THalathil

Charutham  aninju  aadi paadunnu chathuryamode  kar varnnan

 

When she sings  play , play my baby in the musical  tones

He looks very smart and that black colored one  sings well

 

കണ്ണൻചിരട്ടേൽ മണ്ണപ്പം ചുട്ടും കണ്ണിമാങ്ങ പെറുക്കിയും കണ്ണാരം പൊത്തിക്കൂട്ടരോടൊത്തി കാർവർണ്ണനാടി ലീലകൾ

 

Kannan chirattel Mannappam chuttum, kanni manga  perukkiyum Kannaram

Pothi kottarodu yethi , Kar varnan  aadi  leelakal

 

Krishna made Appam on Coconut shell, picked up  unripe  fallen mangoes

And played with his  friends closing his eyes and That cloud coloured one played  sports

 

കാണാം കായാമ്പൂ വർണ്ണൻ ലീലകൾ ഭക്തിയൊത്തുള്ളിൽ നോക്കുകിൽ കാണാമാമായക്കണ്ണൻ ചൂടിടും മാറ്റേറും മയിൽപ്പീലികൾ

 

Kaanaam  Kaayambu  varnan leelakal , bakthi yothu ullil  nokkukil

Kanaam maya  kannan  choodidum  mathetham Mayil peelikal

 

We can see the sports  of the  black coloured one, if we see  with lot of devotion

We can see  the peacock feathers  worn on his chest  by the magic Kanna
