1.கச்சித் திருமடத்தில் கண்கண்ட தெய்வமான
கலைவாணி ரூபமொத்த கற்கண்டே! கதிர்முகனே!
மெச்சித் திருநாமம் செப்பிடுவோர் தம்வாழ்வில்
வினைநீக்கி அருள்புரியும் சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Kachi thirumadathhil  kan kanda  deivamaana  ,

Kalai vani  roopamotha  karkande, Kathirmukhane  ,

Mechi  thiru namam  cheppiduvor   tham vaazhvil  ,

Vinai neeki  arul  puriyum   sankarane  , Yezhuntharulvai

Oh Sugar  Candy , who  is the  visible God  of  the divine Kanchi Mutt,

And who had   a form similar  to Goddess  Saraswathi, Oh Saint with face  like sun,

Oh Sankara who removes  the Karma   and blesses those  people ,

Who appreciate    and chant   your divine name , Please  wake up.

காவித் திருவணியில் திருத்தண்டம் கையேந்தி
ஞானத் திருவுருவாய் பீடமேற்றப் பெரியோனே!
போதம் எமக்குருளி பெருவாழ்வு தந்தோனே!
இருள்நீக்கி ஒளிசேர்க்கும் சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Kavi  thiruvaniyil  thiru thandam kayyendhi,

Jnan thiru uruvaai   peedametha periyone  ,

Bodham   yemakkaruli   peru vaazhvu thandhone  ,

Irul neeki   oli  cherkkum sankarane  Yezhuntharulvai

Oh  great one  who wearing   divine ochre robes, holding divine staff,

Accepted    the Peeda in his divine   form of wisdom,

Oh Saint   who blessed  me  understanding  and gave me  a great life,

Oh Sankara   who removes   darkness   and  enlightebs , Please  wake up

பூதியுரு கொண்டே பூவிழியால் அருளாலன்
பூத்தத் திருவுருவாய் புவியிதனில் உதித்தோனே!
வேத மறையாவும் விளங்கிடவே அருள்செய்த
ஞான அருள்புரியும் சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Bhoothiyuru konde   poovizhiyaal   arulaal  an-

Pootha   thiruvuruvai   puviyithanil   udithone  ,

Veda  marai yaavum   vilangidave   arul   cheitha  ,

Jnana   arul puriyum sankarane  , yezhuntharulvai

Oh Saint  Who  rose  in this world with  a form covered with sacred ash ,

Who showered  his blessings  with his flower like eyes and had a flowery divine form,

Who  blessed so that  all the Vedas   became    clear,

Oh SAnkara who showred  blessings of wisdom, please  wake up

ஞாலம் தழைத்தோங்க அருட்பாத நடையோடே
நாளும் திக்விஜயம் நல்கியதோர் பேரீசா!
பாதம் அருட்கமலம் பதம்போதும் நல்வாழ்வும்
நாளும் பெற்றிடுவோம் சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Jnaalam thazhaithonga   arut  padha  nadayode  ,

Naalum   dig vijayam   nalkiyathor  pereesa,

Paadham arutkamalam  padam pothum  nal vaazhvum  ,

Naalum   pethriduvom   sankarane  , yezhuntharulvai

Oh great God  who always   walked  divinely with ,

His divine feet    so that  this world   becomes  prosperous,

Oh Sankara   whose feet is the divine lotus  by  which  ,

We would get great life  appreciated by many,  Please wake up

நேயம் தான்கொண்டே ஒற்றுமையும் செழித்தோங்க
பேதம் தானில்லாப் பெருவாழ்வும் கிட்டிடவே
ஞானம் அருளோனே! நற்குருவே! மெய்பொருளே!
நாளும் அடிபணிவோம் சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Neyam thaan konde  othumayum chezhithinga ,

Bedham  thanillaa    peru vaazhvum    kittidave ,

Jnanam  arulone, nar Guruve  , mei porule  ,

Naalum adi panivom SAnkarane  , yezhuntharulvai

Oh  good Guru who  with great  friendship for us  ,

With a view  to increasing unity and to get the great divine life  ,

In which there  are no differences granted us wisdom,  Oh Truth ,

Oh Sankara   always   we would   salute your feet ,  Please wake up.

ஈச்சங் குடிதனிலே உனையீன்ற எழில்பெற்றோர்,
ஈய்ந்த சிவனார்தம் திருப்பாதம் போற்றிடுவோம்!
காந்த எழிலோனே! கற்பகமே! பொற்பதமே!
சாந்த முகத்தோனே! சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

EEcham kudi thanile unai eendra    yezhil pethor,

EEyntha   sivanaar   thiru padham  pothiduvom,

Kantha   ezhilone, karpakame, por padhame,

SAntha  mukathione   SAnkarane  , yezhuntharulvai

WE would praise  the divine feet  of Lord   Shiva  ,

To whom your parents by birth   gave   you in Eachanku,

Oh Magnetic beauty  , Oh  wish graning tree , Oh saint   with golden feet  ,

Who  has a  peaceful face , Oh Sankara  , Please   wake up.

அண்டும் அடியவர்தம் குறைபோக்கி நலமளிக்கும்
பண்பும் பெருமாண்பும் அருளுரைத்தப் பெரியோனே!
கண்டும் ஒளிபெறவே சன்னதியை நாடிவந்தோம்
வேதம் தழைத்தோனே! சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Aandum   adiyavar  tham kurai  pokkki nalam alikkum,

Panpum   peru manpum  aruluraitha  periyone,

Kandum oli perave   sannathiyai  naadi vanthom,

Vedam thazhaithone  Sankarane  , yezhutharulvai

Oh Great  one, who always  removes   the problems of his devitees  ,

And gave them good life and who is cultured ,has  great behaviour ,

And  told blessed  words, to see you and get enlightened , we came in search of you,

Oh SAnkara  who nurtured  Vedas  , Please   wake up.


அவனியர் அனைவர்க்கும் அருள்வேண்டி தவமேற்ற
அனுஷ அவதார மறைபொருளே! மாகேசா!
ஆயிரம் பிறைபோலே அருள்புரியும் சந்திரரே!
ஆழியில் காப்போனே! சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Avaniyar   anaivarkkum  arul vendi  thavameththa,

Anusha   avathara  marai porule  , Maahessa.

Aayiram pirai  poale   arul puriyum Chandirare,

AAzhiyil  kaappone  , Sankarane  , yezhutharulvai

Oh great God who is the meaning of  Vedas born  in the world,

In the Anusha star  , who did penance for good of all of all others,

Oh moon,   who blesses us like the thousand crescents ,

Oh saint who protects even in ocean , Oh Sankara. Please wake up

ஒன்பது கோளரவம் ஒருநாளும் தீண்டாது
ஓதும் மறைநான்கும் ஒருமித்தே காப்பதுபோல்
சீர்குருவாம் நின்பதமும் நாடிவந்தோம் அற்புதமே!
சற்குருவே! காஞ்சி சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Onpathu kolaravam   oru naalum theendaathu,

Othum  marai nangum   orumithe kaappathu poal  ,

Seer guruvam  nin padhamum  naadi vanthom  Arputhame ,

SArguruve, Kanchi SAnkarane, yezhutharulvai

Just like the  Veda   that we chant , completly protects us,

From the sounds of the nine planets never ever touching us
Is your feet who is our  Great Guru and Oh wonder we came in search of that ,

Oh great Guru  , Oh Sankara  of Kanchi  , Please wake up

அகமேற்கும் எண்ணங்கள் நல்லனவாய் இருந்திடவும்
எண்ணிய கருமங்கள் நற்பதமாய் நடந்திடவும்
நடக்கும் நிகழ்வேதும் நிற்கதியாய் பொய்யாது
நலமேற்க அருள்புரிய சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Agamerkkum  yennangal  nallanavai  irunthidavum,

Yenniya  karumangal   narpadmai nadanthidavum,

Nadakkum  nigazhvedhum  nir kathiyai poyyathu,

Nalamerkka arul puriya   sankarane  , yezhutharulvai

Oh Sankara   for blessing us   so that   all the   thoughts,

Within our mind are good, so that    all the acts ,

That we want to do are done well, and so that  ,

All the happenings are not without support  and become lies, Please   wake up.

தானம் பெரிதென்றும் தாய்மை உளமேற்க
தயவாய் சொற்கூறி சதுர்வேத நெறிதந்தே
ஞாலம் சீர்பொங்க நல்கிடுவாய் பேரருளை
ஞான சசிசேகர சங்கரனே! எழுந்தருள்வாய்!

Dhanam  perithendrum   thaimai    ulamerkka,

Dhayavai    chor koori   chathur veda  neri thanthe  ,

Jnalam  seer ponganalgiduvai   per arulai,

Jnana  sasi shekara    sankarane  , yezhutharulvai

Oh Sankara  who wore  the crescent   of wisdom,

Who told  with  kindness of a  a mother’s mind that charity is great.

And who gave us the dharma of four vEdas, be pleased,

To give divine blessings so that the world becomes prosperous and please   wake up

செல்வச் சீர்பேறும் கல்விக் கலையாவும்
வீரம்திளை மனமும் வேண்டியுமை சரணடைந்தோம்!
சிந்தை தெளிந்தேகி சீர்வாழ்வும் எமக்கருள
சசிசேகர ஸரஸ்வதியே! சங்கரனே! சரணம்! சரணம்!!

SElva  seer perum kalvi kalai yaavum,

Veeram  thilai manamum  vendi umai saran adainthom,

Chinthai thelithegi seer vaazvum yemakku arula.

Sasi sekhara   saraswathiye, SAnkarne   SAranam, saramam

WE have  surrendered to you  requesting   you to grant us,

All the  knowledge   and arts  which would grant us divine wealth,

For granting us  divine life  with  great  clarity of mind,

Oh  saint Chadra Shekara  Saraswathi, Oh Sankara , I surrender , I surrender
