(She was a tamil poet   who lived  in 15^th centaury in Senkottai. She   was born in a rich family  and became a widow when she was a child.Continuing her learning of Tamil she has written about  10000 poems.It seems Maha Kavi BHarathiyar  was her great fan.

  It also  seems that Azhagammal the mother  of saint Ramana used to murmur   this song when doing  kitchen work. I gcme to know of this poem from post of  my face book friend Hariharasubramanian Venkatasubramanian. 1.ஆதியந்தமற்ற ஆசாரியர் கிருபையினாலே
ஆனதும் போனது மன்பாகச் சொல்வேன் கேட்பாய்

Due  to blessing of Acharya  without  beginning  or end,

I will tell  you with love  that which became and that  which ended, please hear

2.ஆசைகயற்றூஞ்சலாடி திரிந்ததும் போச்சே
அசஞ்சலமான வகண்ட ஸ்வரூப மாச்சே

AAsayathu  oonjalaadi   thirinthathum  poche,

Achanchalamaana  Aganda   swaroopam   AAche

Swinging without any desire   was lost

And it became the super form  which is greatly stable

3.ஆணென்றும் பெண்ணென்று மலைந்து திரிந்ததும் போச்சே
அசையாமல் ஞானஸ்தலத்தி லிருக்கவுமாச்சே

AAnendrum  pennendrum   alainthu   thirinthathum  poche

Asayaamal  jnana sthalathil  irukkavum aache

The wandering here  and saying as  male  and as female   was lost

And it became, sitting without moving in place of wisdom

4.அனந்த ஜன்மத்திற்கு அடியிட்டிருந்ததும் போச்சே
அனந்த ஜன்மங்களு மில்லாதிருக்கவுமாச்சே

Anantha  janmathirkku   adiyittirunthum poche

Anantha janmangalum illathirukkavum   aache

Though  a plan was made    for endless  births,

It became that there  was no endless  births

5.அந்தகனாலே யதட்டி பயந்ததும் போச்சே
அவஸ்தை மூன்றுக் கப்புறப் பட்டவனுமாச்சே

Anthakanaale   adhatti  bhayanthathum poche

Avasthai moondrukappura pattavanum   aache

Getting scared by Yama who chastised   us was lost

It became   a state  beyond   the three  states(Waking, sleeping  and sleeping)

6.அகங்கார துக்கமசூயை இடும்புகள் போச்சே
தூங்காமல் தூங்கி சுகமாயிருக்கவு மாச்சே

Ahangaaram  dukham asooyai  idumbukal  poche

Thoongaamal   thoongi   sukhamai  irukkavumaache

The three problems  pride  , sorrow and jealousy    was lost

WE could stay happily  with sleeping   without sleep

7.ஆறு குளங்களும் ஆடித் திரிந்ததும் போச்சே
அதுவே வடிவாய் திடமாயிருக்கவு மாச்சே

Aaru  kulangalum  aadi thirinthathum  poche

Adhuve   vadivai  thidamai  irukkavum  aache

The wandering and roaming  of six  ponds  were lost

And the same thing took firm forms   and remained

8.அலையில் துரும்பு போலலைந்து திரிந்ததும் போச்சே
அசையாத பருவதம் போலே யிருக்கவு மாச்சே

Alayil   thurmbu poala   alainthu thirinthathum poche

Asayaatha  parvatham pole yirukkavumaache

Wandering and roaing  like a twig  in the waves was lost

And it became  like the immovable  mountain

9.ஜன்மேந்திரியங்கள் ஜரையும் தொடர்ந்ததும் போச்சே
ஜகமெல்லாம் சித்துமயமா யிருக்கவுமாச்சே

Jamendriyangal  jarayum  thodarnthathum  poche

Jagamellam   sithu  mayamayirukkalaache

The sense organs following  old age   was lost

And all the world over occult  pervaded  everywhere

10.தான் பிறரென்கிற தாழ்த்தி யுயர்த்தியும் போச்சே
சாஸ்திர வேதத்திற்கப் புறப்பட்டவனாச்சே

Thaan pirar  yenkindra  thaazhthi yuyarthiyum  poche

Sastra  vedathirkku   purapattavanaache

The higher  and lower of  me   and others  was lost

And he became  one who started  in search of sastras  and Vedas

11.நாமரூபம் நாமென்ற பேரெல்லாம் போச்சே
நான்முகனாலே யறியப்படாதவனாச்சே

Naama   roopa,  naam yendra  perellam poche

Naanmukhanaale yariya  pattavanaache

The name and form determining  ourselves  has  been lost

And  is he not the one  who is known by  Lord Brahma

12.நீரில் குளித்ததும் நீரில் களித்ததும் போச்சே
நித்திய நிர்மல ஸ்வரூபமே நானென்பதாச்சே

Neeril kulithathum, neeril  kalithathum poche

Nithiya  nirmala swaroopame naan yenpathaache

Taking bath in water  and playing in water  was lost

And he  became  thee forever divinely pure form

13,ஸ்தாவர ஜங்கமம் ஸத்தியமென்பதும் போச்சே
ஸகல லோகங்களுக்கும் சின்மாத்திரம் மிச்சமதாச்சே.

Sthavara   jngama,  sathiyam  yenpathum  poche

Sakala lokangalum  chin mathram  michamathaache

The fact that movable and immovable properties was the truth was lost

And what remained was that  world   was nothing but divine

14.பசிக்கிரை தேடி பண்ணுமுபாயங்கள் போச்சே
பவ்யங்களுக்குள்ளதும் தானே வருமென்பதாச்சே ( 14 )

Pasikku  irai  thedi pannum  upayangal  poche

Bhavyangalukku  ullathum  thaane   varumenpathaache

The tricks which were made  to get food  for  hunger  was lost

It became   that what is fated  to come in future would only come

15.என்ன செய்வோமென் றேக்கம் பிடித்ததும் போச்சே
ஏதேது வந்தாலும் எல்லாம் ஸ்வபாவமுமாச்சே

Yenna cheivom,   yendra yekka,  pidithathathum poche

Yethethu  vanthaalum  yellam  swabhavam aache

The  longing as to what  we will do has  gone

Whichever comes , it became  our own fate

16காம குரோதாதிகள் காயக் கிலேசங்கள்

 காலத்திரயத்திலும் காணாத இன்னவனாச்சே

Kama krodhadhikall , kaya  klesangal.

Kala thrayathilum  kaanaatha innavanaache

Passion , anger  and others, the trouble  of body we undergo,

Became what  we did not see in past  , present and future

17.லோகாதி லோகங்க ளெனக்குள்ளிருந்ததும் போச்சே
ஒன்றுமில்லையென்று தானாயிருக்கவு மாச்சே

Lokadhi lokangal  yenakku  ullil  irunthum poche

Ondru millai yendru thaanaayi irukkavum  aache

Though   all the worlds  were  inside me , I lost

And I had to remain  feeling  I do not have anything

18.கோத்திரங்கள் கல்பிதங் குணங்கள் குடிகளும் போச்சே
குணாதீதமான பரபிரம்மம் நானென்பதாச்சே

Gothirangal  kalpithangunangal kudikalum  poche

Gunaatheethamaana para brahmam  naan yenpathaache

The Gothras  , their imaginary  properties as well as the citizens were  lost

Because I became Divine Brahmam  which was beyond all   qualities

19.இனமும் பிள்ளை நானென்ற பேரெல்லாம் போச்சே
எப்போதும் பிரம்ம ஸ்வரூபமே நானென்பதாச்சே

Inamum  Pillai naanendra  perellam  poche

Yeppothum  Brahma    swaroopame   naan yenpathaache

The caste  “The saying “I am pillai”     and all have been lost

It became that always I    am the form of Brahmam

20.வேத்துருவமாக பார்த்து இருந்ததும் போச்சே
வேறொன்று மில்லாமல் தானாயிருக்கவு மாச்சே

Vethuruvamaaka paarthu  irunthathum  poche

Verondrum  yillamal  thaanai  irukkavumaache

Seeing one having a different form has been lost

Without anything   we started   to remain as we are

21.புத்திரனாலே கதியுண்டென்பதும் போச்சே
புத்திராதி பொய் பூர்ணம் நானென்பதாச்சே

Puthiranaal  gathi yundenpathum poche

Puthiraadhi poi poornam   naanaache

The feeling that   we will get salvation because of son has gone

The  fact that son is a lie  became me

22.பொய்யை மெய்யென்றெண்ணி போகம் புசித்ததும் போச்சே
மெய்யை மெய்யென்றெண்ணி மெய்யாயிருக்கவுமாச்சே.

Poyyai  meyyendrenni bogam pusichathum  poche

Meyyai  meyyendru yenni meyyavuirukkavum  aache

Thinking  that lie is the  truth, the joy which enjoyed  has been lost

Thinking truth as truth we have been able to keep true

23,யக்ஞ யாகங்களும் ஏற்ற விதிகளும் போச்சே
யக்ஞாதி கர்மங்கள் என்னை பஜிக்கவுமாச்சே ( 23 )

Yajnanas   and yagas    and their    rules   were lost

And the rituals of the Yajna   prayed to me

பஞ்ச கவ்வியத்தால் பலன் வருமென்பதும் போச்சே
பஞ்சதன் மாத்திரைக்கு பலனாயிருக்கவு மாச்சே ( 24 )

Pancha gavyathaal   palan  varum   yenbathum poche

Pancha   than mathraikku balanayi yirukkavum aache

The face that there  is effect  to pancha gavya  was lost

We were made to be result  of five types of  the   quality

25,ஜனன மரணம் ஏனக்குள்ளிருந்ததும் போச்சே
ஜனனமது பொய்யென்று சோதித்திருக்கவு மாச்சே

Janana marana,   yenakkullirunthum  poche

Jananamathu  poyyendru sothithirukkavum  aache

Birth  and death went  away  from inside me

And I was  made to test  that  birth is a lie.
