Prayer of Koodal Manikhya (Lord Bharatha)

( This Temple  is in a place called  Irinjala  Kuda .The  God in this temple  is Bharatha  the younger  brother 

of Lord Rama.  The idol of Bharatha is five feet tall with four hands holding
bow, conch, wheel and Abhaya mudra. Offering Lotus to this Lord is considered as very propitious.
During that time, the priest noticed a very red glow being the statue. The people wanted
to measure the strength of the glow, which was like the glow of Manikkam (a costly
gem). The only rich man in possession of such a gem was the king Of Kayankulam. He
willfully gave his very costly Manikkam. But when it was taken near the glow behind the
statue, the manikkam of the king got merged with the statue. From that time this te)mple
was known as Koodal Manikkam Kshethram (The temple of added Manikkam).

 

 

ഉള്ളം തെളിഞ്ഞു,

ഉദരരോഗം കെടുത്തീടുന്ന

കൂടൽമാണിക്യസ്വാമി

കൂടെ നീയെന്നും വേണം

രാജ്യം വെടിഞ്ഞു രാമ

നാമം ജപിച്ചീടുന്ന

ത്യാഗത്തിൻ മൂർത്തേ

താവക പാദം വണങ്ങീടുന്നു

Udhara  rogam kedutheedunna

Koodal  Manikhya Swami

Koode  Neeyunnum  venam

Rajyam  vedinju , Rama

Namam japicheedunna

THyagathin moorthe

Thavaka padham  vanangeedunnu

 

That  which  makes Mind clear

That  which cures diseases  of that belly

Oh Koodal  Manikhya God

Who  gave  away  the kingdom and

Went  on chanting  name  of Rama

The symbol  of sacrifice

I am saluting your feet

 

രാമസഹോദര ദശരഥ

നന്ദന പാദുക പൂജിത

ശ്രേഷ്ഠ ഹരേ ശ്രീ ഭരതാ

പ്രിയ മാനസ പൂജിത

ശ്രിതജന പാലക ഭരത ഹരേ

 

Rams sahodara  Dasaratha

Nandana , Padhuka poojitha

Sreshta  Hare Sri Bharathaa

Priya  manasa  poojitha

Sritha jana paalaka Bharatha  Hare

 

The brother  of Rama, the  son of  Dasaratha

The one  who worshipped  Sandals(Of Rama)

The great  One  , Oh  Sri Bharathaa

Who is worshipped  by dear minds

The one who looked  after  those ,

Who depended  on him, the great Bharatha

 

പൂമാലയിൽ അക്ഷരമെല്ലാം

കവിതകളായി കോർത്തീടുന്ന

ഉണ്ണായിവാര്യർക്കൊപ്പം

എന്നേയും കാത്തീടേണം

ചാക്യാരെ കൂത്തിനു കൂട്ടും

ഫലിതപ്രിയനാകും സ്വാമി

വലയുന്നോരെന്നുടെ ഭജനം

ഫലവത്തായ് മാറ്റീടേണം

 

Poomalayil  Akshara mellaam

Kavithakalaayi  kortheedunna

Unnayi  vaariyarkku oppam,

Yenneyum  kaatheedenam

Chakyaare  koothinnu koottum

Phalitha  priyanaakum  Swami

Valurunnor yennude Bhajanam

Phala  vathaayi mathridenam

 

Similar to Unnayi  Vaariyar , who ,

Made  alphabets in to garland  of poems

You  should  also  protect me

The God  who liked  witticisms

Joined  Chakyar  in his play

And you also  should convert my

Growing prayers  fruitful

 

കൂത്തും കഥകളിയും നിന്റെ

ഇഷ്ട്ടങ്ങളല്ലോ സ്വാമിൻ

രോഗത്തിന് മുക്കുടിയേകി

പ്രാണന്റെ രക്ഷകനാകും

കൈകേയിയ്ക്കുത്തമ സുതനാം

ഭരതാ നിൻ തിരു സന്നിധിയിൽ

ഭയഭക്ത്യാ തൊഴുതു നമിക്കും

ഭക്തന്മാർക്കുടയവനാകൂ

 

Koothum  Kadha kaliyum  ninde

Ishtangalallo swamin

Rogathinnu  Mukkuti yeki

Pranande  Rakshakanaakum

Kaikeyikku  uthama suthanaam

Bharathaa  nin sannidhiyil,

Bahya bakthyaa thozhuthu  namikkum

Baktharkku  udayavanaaku

 

Og Gor are  not Chakyar Koothu

And Kadhakali   liked  by you

Please  give Mukkudi nedicine ,

For the diseses  and save  our lives

Oh  Bharathaa  who was  ,

The  great son of Kaikeyi

With  fear  and devotion , Those devotees

Who salute and pray  you, please  become theirs

പഞ്ചാരി നാദസ്വരവും

നാടെങ്ങും ഭക്തിയുണർന്നൂ

പൂരം തിരു ദർശന പുണ്യം

ഉള്ളം തെളിഞ്ഞുദര രോഗം കെടുത്തീടുന്ന

Would wake up  devotion through out  the country

Witnessing   divine  festival of Poorm  gets  God’s blessings

Cures  diseases  of the belly
